Another stupid question....
I'm a pro on that type of questions....sorry...
I'm thingking in buy Cubase 5 but i have a little doubts... If we buy cubase 5, i can install it in windows and/or in mac....or you have to choose first...
This is only because i have a mackbook and a pc, but i want to produce in pc, and if i take the next step, i want to make the lives act with my mac.
I now that at this moment we can install operation system in boths (windows), but for that, i have to buy another operation system key.....and i dont want to spend more money in that again.
I ask that, because proprably, in the samme DVD of cubase 5 is the 2 versions (pc/mac) or not...
I'm feel like a donkey sorry...
Thanks guys....is just to save a little money....            Main Fusion aka Dj Adhara

yeah. my understanding of it is you can install it on as many machines as you have. but you can only use it on one at a time because of the dongle.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

It will probably be cracked soon (if not already) so you won't need a stupid dongle.

Use Crack! Fucking Facists... Psytrance is about revolting

Though Kudos for everyone that make this possible, synthmakers and program coders, we should defenitly support them, but their crazy ideas on the usage of bought stuff is silly...

I hear it runs better on PC. I don't know from experience because I'm not wasting $500 to find out (I don't even have $500). That's only what I've heard around the scene.

4 was never cracked, as far as i know.

on a related note, what's the deal with academic versions? how do you actually prove if you're a student? are there any limitations, as far as future upgradability?

seems like there are not a lot of info out there about this.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

for the student version (EDU) version/half the price you just need to pass a scan or copy of a valid student identification card to your local dealer..

it is ment to be for Educational aplications obviously but it is the same version as the original just with the limitation that you cannot(officialy) use it for commercial purpose...

as soon as you want to update this version to lets say Cubase 6 there will be no EDU Updates so you have to buy the regular one wich lets you get out of EDU limitations..

hope this helps a bit..

thanks for these clarifications. but my school ID doesn't have any dates on it, so it's not readily apparent if i'm still in school or if i was in school 10 years ago. it just has my ugly mug on it, the school name, and i think my school id.

and does this mean i can only buy it at retail stores? because i didn't see anything unusual when i tried to "order" an academic version from musiciansfriend.com (just to see if they provide any additional instructions).           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

Hmm..

you will need to pass a valid one..so either you go to your school and ask for an up to date confirmation or you ask a friend who buys it and where you maybe can use it as well..

if you order the EDU versio at musiciansfriend you will be asked for that "student" card afterwards..since it is not allowed for any reseller to have this versions in stock, they have to be ordered from steinberg exlusive..

Hää..why do you lost money?

you will save the half and one day if you decide to upgrade then you can buy the normal update wich you have to buy anyway..

crackheads... support the developers or there will be not such products in future...

and there is no cubase 4 or 5 cracked out there..and sx3 sux big time compared to 4 or 5..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

you can update EDU version of cubase with no problem and for the same price as every one pays, about 200$.
steinberg droped the edu updates, now its same update for regular and edu version.
i bought cubase 4 EDU when it came out, and when cubase 5 came out i bought the update for 200$ with no problem what so ever. and when cubase 6 comes out, same thing....no problem.
