thanks greede, i got the old melodyne vst, and im not 100% happy with it. especially the "hassle"... and not all functions work like ive seen it in the VariAudio trailer.
also this new orchestra programming looks awesome, especially for filmmusic... but what ive seen, it takes the samples from an halion vst wich is included (only demo?? ftw).

so you think its not worth spending 600€ and got red numbers on my bank-acount?

from the Cubase forums...

As the licenses inside the dongles represent the market value of our software Steinberg usualy do not replace lost/stolen/broken dongles unless one of these criteria is met:
- You registered the dongle before it was stolen at your Mysteinberg account
- You have the number of the stolen/lost key
- You have the activation code of your license that was used on the stolen/lost key

i have registered my dongle at Mysteinberg account... i'm not planning to take the dongle out of the house...

as to whether it's worth 600... maybe look for a second hand version. i got mine for 225 euros at that price it's definitely worth it - it's an amazing piece of software!           http://www.myspace.com/aeonaeon

Personally I think I prefer cubase 3 above 5 (never tried 4). It has a few extra plugins etc that are nice but also dumped some that I use quite alot.
Losing a dongle should not matter at all imho. No idea if they ll supply you with a new one. It would be seriously f***d up if they made you buy the whole program again.

You only need the Logic dongle upon installation. Its stupid to worry about loosing a small USB key that would render your application useless, if you were traveling and lost it somewhere.
Silly Steinberg.

I have C5 and I think the dongle idea is the stupidest idea ever from a consumer perspective...From Steinberg's perspective, it is a great idea.....You notice, not too many people have cracked versions of it.....

However, I am a consumer and hate it....I always fear that I will lose it and have to shell out another 500.00 for a new one......if you lose it, you are assed out.

and yes, your license is in the dongle, so if you lose it, you will need to buy another...they may be nice and give you a discount, but you will have to get another license           assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

All the old plugins come on the Cubase 5 disc, they're just not automatically installed. So you can get your VB-onezzzzz on.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page
