hi, im thinking of purchasing cubase 5 (600€).
i want to share the money with my friend...
is it possible to install it on 2 differnt homestudios?

nope not possible, cubase edu is 250/300 euro if you re student |

hmm ok... is there a way to get (buy) VariAudio vst in cubase sx3?
or is there a cracked version of cubase5 ? (not the studio/essential version)

You can install Cubase on up to 3 different machines, if they are your OWN machines this comes under the "single User agreement".
However if you are "sharing" with a friend and you want Cubase on your machine and he wants Cubase on his machine then that would violate the "single user" agreement, and in any case, even if you did do that it would be pointless, as you only have 1 dongle and you need the dongle to use the Application.

You only need the Logic dongle upon installation. Its stupid to worry about loosing a small USB key that would render your application useless, if you were traveling and lost it somewhere.

no and yes there is a cracked version 5.
is it possbile to buy a other dongle to save liscences on it in case you loose the original?i agree its silly if you loose the dongle you have to buy cubase again from what i heard |

I don't think that once you've registered they'd make you buy the whole damn thing again, they must send a new dongle...its just that it can't be soon enough if you pop the the gents to take a piss right before you go on stage and whilst you are looking for your class As in your pocket, out drops the dongle and into the cubicle! Oops!
Moral of the story? only users lose dongles.

When you buy cubase you actualy buy the licence to use the program and not the program itself. If you loose the licence you loose the right to use the program. if you want to use the program again you have to buy another licence. |

If you only want it for VariAudio you might as well get melodyne plugin. Its better than VariAudio.
VariAudio is less hassle to use than melodyne but melodyne is better quality.
You can download melodyne editor (DNA) as a demo. The only limitation is your only allowed to transfer 10 seconds at a time (which is more than enough for me)
