So I was working on this project and suddenly overnight without doing anything to my pc or installing anything at all whenever I open the project file it loads correctly but won't play audio, the line will move and midi meters will show activity but no sound or activity on the audio channels.
All my audio settings are ok in the device bay... also in the VST connections and everything is routed correctly, but there seems to be a conflict with the ASIO driver if I close the document it will freeze cubase and next time I start can't chose my ASIO driver cause it says already in use then I have to reboot.
I've tried opening several old projects, some will play right some others will crash the ASIO like the first project.
Then I tried going back to a restore point on Windows recovery utility like a week ago. And it worked, I could read and play all my documents.
After a week same shit goes up, this time Windows recovery won't work and half my project won't play
I suspected of conflicting VST so I tried opening document and deleting all vsti and insert fx, it didn't work, in fact the sole act of reomving vsts would crash cubase in some cases.
Thing is I can start new documents or open a couple of my old ones, but I don't know what is causing this conflict. It did happen overnight without making any significant changes to my equipment... weird thing I could restore windows once and it worked but now it won't.
I have been working on a test document using the same vsts I usually do to see if any of them cause any conflict but they don't.
So I'm tired of rebooting. Any ideas? |

Delete the preference file, rescan media bay..reinstall the asio driver or even update it..that would be the first thing i would try.Backup the preference files before deleting them

trashing preferences basically gives you a fresh cubase..but i doubt that it is an cubase issue as well..i think theres something going on with you os...maybe one of the nice hidden service tasks that windows starts after a certain time of period..did you check your sessions on a another pc?

Maybe your sample rate changed from the original one that was set when you created the project,? check the sample rate under project setup...i think |
