IMO.. For basses.. Sylenth1 edited Moog, Albino Swing Saw Bass, VB1, Predator PsyBass, Trilian (never tasted but heard it's great..!! But forget it when u have bad monitors or you must be an equo -master 2 set up an killa bass..!! )
Hear my work on workshop, all basses from these VST's..!!

when i asked him it was not a nord2 he was using at that time, something way more fat ! maybe in his very old tracks , it was sounding more like vb1 to me .
i like his bassline on the album he released on 3d vision

Ou.. He uses nl2 keyboard not for the bassline I mean, for synths and other stuffs.. For a party set he uses nl2 keyboard.. Take a look..
Second vote for Surge. It's the first VST anyone should buy.

I don't think there is a best vsti but I think the synths mystic,prolouge and spector are really nice in cubase.

Actually I totally forgot about this synth, but it is most definately one of the best sounding synths out there.

I'm also gonna put in I liked Model E and the CS40, both made by steinberg, but they don't work with windows 7 64 bit ;(
