the irq is set automaticly according to where you place your card.. try maybe switching places and place the sound card in a diff. slot. also move the video card so it won't be in front of the sound card..
make sure to plug out the power cable when you do that. there's still electricity even when the computer is turned off and one wrong touch can cause a "ketzer". . I burnt a mother board this way once.. nice smell ;)

yeah, you'll get different irq values. on new boards several devices can share the same irq without conflicting each other but I heard sometime it's still causing problems.. so make sure to place the video card far from the sound card..

If you go to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager, and double-click on 'Computer' there (the uppermost entry in the tree), you get a list of IRQ's. You can see if your soundcard shares it's IRQ with another device.
If there's only a device 'IRQ Holder for PCI-steering', that's alright. It belongs with the soundcard.
we will check this out thanx tzahi .

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !!!!!!!
thanx tzahi , Bilbo , Marcus , prosect for the help guys "D
I figured the problem , i had 2 s.cards on my m.board , DELTA 66 + c-media "Apachy" , they had a conflict between them & the Cubase. Another thing the IRQ was too low (3) it supoe to be higher , so i took the c-media card out and replced the the slot in the mother board so the s.card & the G.card seperated , & then the IRQ was on (9) alone interupt.
Success, now we can order some Barburger and relax a little ;)

happy you resolved the problem , man... about the irq, and how low it is. don't change the irq without checking it is free. irq is setting priority of the card in getting the attention od the OS.the bigger num ber is the lower priority, so the lower number -the higher priority.when 2 cards get the same irq the pc simply gets stuck.
anyway ... what was the problem ? :-) |
