Cubase 3 Recording Problem (M Audio FW 410)

Hi all 
I got a weird problem with cubase 3
When I want to record an external synth, i do as normal: open a midi track, assign it to my synth, add an audio track and put it in monitor.
At this stage I am supposed to hear and SEE the signal coming in the audio channel, and by inserting effects i should be supposed to hear them affecting the signal no? well, i do hear the sound coming in, but it only goes to the "audio-in/monitor" channel, not to my audio channel, and any effects on the audio channel make no effect on the signal. Now the weirdest part...I save it all as it is...quit and open cubase again...and voila..now everything is working, I got signal going into audio channel and insert fx are changing the signal.....very strange...
I have to do this everytime I want to record a synth in a new audio channel...(save, quit and cubase again) wich is pretty annoying.....! Anyone had similar situation or knows whats the problem or what iīm doing wrong?
I got an M Audio Firewire 410, dunno if its soundcard thing, cubase setup, or something I might be doing wrong...
Hope someone can enlighten me on this

HI!!
you hve to put the swicth mic/line....(in line)...in da m-audio
and rec in the audio channel....and play rec.......
you can revise the vst conections.....

What is happening is really a bug, I am doing everything right, I add the midi out track, add the audio track and enable it to monitor, I hear the synth, but i donīt get the signal in the audio channel, and I if i put fx in the audio channel I donīt hear them affecting the signal...once I save, close and open the project again its working...if I take out monitor and put it on again it wonīt work again unless I close and open again....anoying....
I was just hoping someone might have same problem and could know the solution to it....
Anyway, Iīm formating my system in a few days, just waiting for a new HD, and hopefully that should make this problem go away... |

FluoSamsara - happend to me aswell, in Sx 2 i havent tried yet in SX 3 just got it installed recently..
but i know its a pain in the ass... i didnt find a work around for it before so i had to record to adobe audtion...
at least you found a workaround... hehe
but im sure there must be a explaination...

Same happening here. It doesnīt recording external synth. Someone has a good tip to solve this problem?

I donīt know if my guess is right... But sometime ago I was trying to "sing" with the Cubaseīs native vocoder... And no sound.
The answer was the "direct monitoring" option on Device Setup.
But I need to mention I think 410 is really unstable. A lot of little bugs, but nice overall sounding.

Cardinals Carttel - i havent found so many problems..
version 3.0.2.623
in 2.2 the first channel volume fader(in the mixer) sometimes got whacko and put it self on full volume...
though i havent been working much with SX 3... still i find it solid enough for what i have done... but where do i take away auto time stretch? its annoying that it timestretch percussion samples... no need for that..
maybe when i work more i will notice... still im happy that this bug is gone cause its very important that the volume faders stick to their position.. 
and i think Sms is correct about the recording problem, i will try later today... i have been cleaning muy room so nothing is connected yet... |

On audio window, u have the "warp section options", on top left. Just make the warp "not lit", and your audio sample will be on its original bpm.

Still I havenīt found an answer but I got some ways to get around it...iīm gonna format my computer in a few days anyway, hopefully that problem will go away

matter now the button i press both are closing the
program . So i say to my self .. Why should i need
this hell . I truly think that the 2.2 is much classic
and better . I made some tracks on the 3 and i realy
liket her but at the same time dont have time for all
those bugs . Thats all . I think we cant trust this one

Update the SX 3.0.2.623 to SX 3.1.1.944! I had these bugs on first SX 3 v. Now itīs much better.
