hello there,
i spent some time in cuba, and i would recommend going up to the north to Vinales Valley in Pinar del Rio, the valley of Tobacco, (if you will be in north) its an amazing place. try catch the sunrise over the valley, and you will see the energy of cuba in that image. not far are also the beaches, that are NOT like varadero which is a tourist haven. the beaches off vinales valley, are small white sand keys, with little bamboo bungalows, totally desert of tourists, and amazing for diving...fish is excellent too. i would really stay away from varadero and explore the real thing... and music, he....its the land of music. even if you dont find trance, nor drugs, there is always, son, salsa, mojitos and beautiful faces! smoke is easily found also.
if you need more info on off the beaten tracks of Cuba, message me, i travelled the whole island pretty much.
otherwise,
bon voyage, and disfrutale!           BOOM 2006 www.boomfestival.org

Hi man,
I was in Cuba last year and no,I don't think there is a psy scene there. You find a lot of live bands playing cuban music but i you have an ear for music you'll realize that all bands keep playing the same 10 cover versions all around!!!
Above that,Cuba is boring and very expensive.
Hope u enjoy.

HAHAHAHA.. your totally right.. i just got back from my vacation and yeah, all over the beache's, in the airports, at the "Special events".. its the same 10 tracks.. very annoying if you ask me..but then again, i didn't go to cuba for there great musical scene..

Varadero beach is really something great.. thet atlantic ocean is very warm and clean, and the sounds of the waves is really something... The people there are really friendly (maybe because they all want tips..lol), harmless people and always open armed people. There is a heavy amount of canadiens in most of the resorts.. and german's... I had a most plesent time at the pool side at 35 degree weather for my entire 7 day stay at the "Arena's Blanca's" hotel... The room was coazy, the service was ok, the food, well, it was buffet for 7 days in a row.. it was good the first two days, but after that the redondance gets to you (and to your stomach)...

I didn't really get all that drunk while i was there.. the sun takes alot of energy out of me and i slept alot.. breakfest, sun, lunch, sleep, supper, sleep.. that was my typical day at the hotel.. with some sex in between at any random time..

The city as a whole is very underdeveloped compared to Canada and most other countries, but i think that's what preserves there culture the most (that's why i think its great that american's can not enter the country, being the kings of Globalisation..not because im a 12 year old with silly childish thoughts) all the restaurants for me were different and had there own little qualities.. the stores are small, but have what you need.. there are no closed walls or doors in most public places.. Everything is in the open with nature. Lots of fields with crops and greenland (not industries, or slave workers making the latest nike shoes for a couple of pennies a day)..... The people work hard for there money and each try to offer something different to make a couple of extra bucks on the side (being a communist country, the people's income are controled)..

all in all, i had a real relaxing time and i brought home 7 bottles of rhum and 23 cuban cigars.. hehe.. i would return to cuba but maybe at a different hotel to try different food.. haha... and if you plan on going, book your own flight and hotel.. DO NOT use travel agents they are crooks.. IMO..

voila.. my somewhat of a review..

well, it costed me about 1400 CAN dollars to book my flight and hotel.. that included pretty much everything, from food to booze.. Then you have to tip everyone to get good service once your there.. about 3-9 Peso's a day.. plus the souveniers and the cigars.. hehe.. ended up costing us an extra 400$ CAN dollars..

so yeah, its kinda expensive but much cheaper than going to Cancun or Jamaica..

Have fun mate.. when did you book for??           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9
