If you draw notes in the MIDI editor and then duplicate the part, the notes in the new parts should end up exactly in the right place.
It sounds like your part is just a little longer than a bar. This can happen if you draw in a note which ends after the end of the part - you get a dialog up asking "Extend part?"; if you answer Yes then the part is lengthened to include the end of this last note.
Any duplicates (which get placed right up against the edge of the previous part) will then not start exactly on the bar any more and any notes inside them will be shifted to one side.
Answering No to "Extend part?" will stop this from happening and will not chop off the end of your last note.
If you want to check whether your part is too long, look at the Object Details with the original part selected. The part's 'end' field should look something like "25.1.1.0" |

colin , i get tht extend part question when i try to adjust the note that has moved off qunatization , whcih i answer as no ...
and i draw proper 1 bar loops with grid mode set to bar ...
even pasting the parts over nad over agin does the same thing ....
some of the notes move out of the respective quantization ...
i thkn there is some quantization setting that i havent set properly
i even went to midi - advanced quantize- and checked that atuo box , but of no avail
pls hlp mw out guys ... im also trying

You sure you have Snap on when you draw your parts? (the button that looks like ">|<")
If SX asks you if you want to extend the part when you try to adjust the note it sounds very much as if the part is too short. Make sure the start and end of the part are both 'x.1.1.0' before you duplicate it.
Does it still happen if you copy the part by holding <alt> down and moving it?

I TRIED BY COPYING THE PART WITH HOLDING DOWN THE ALT BUTTON AND IT WORKS JUST 5N
I GUESS DUPLICATE HAS ANOTHER BUG ATTACHED TO IT IN CUBASE SX 2 ..
BTW IS LOGIC REALLY BETTER THAN SX2 ??
I COULD TRY OUT THT ALSO ... |

I use duplicate with no problems. I still reckon your parts are not an exact number of bars long!
Logic and SX2 are roughly equivalent; each has advantages over the other in different areas. If you use a PC I'd recommend you use SX though, as this has an upgrade path and is still under development, whereas Logic on a PC will forever remain at v5.5.1.
