I have instrument definitions for cakewalk for the CS1x. Instead of choosing material voices, performances, drums (like in the bundled definitions) I have all of the banks and patches in one list (when I go to track properties). I want to know if there such a thing for cubase. I found a thing called Patch Name Script, I choose the bank and patch and automatically it sets the bank and patch stuff. But the problem is that like the bundled defs for cakewalk, it doesn't have all of them in once place. I have to choose voices or material or whatever. The problem in cubase is that each "instrument" is one bank for each channel, but what if I want to choose another bank for that channel? I tried checking "all channels" and then it works, but I only have the XG banks and not the CS1x banks in the list. Anyway I can make all the banks (XG and CS1x) appear in one list for all channels and not a single channel?
Another question: What are Mixer Maps? How do I use them? |

in cubase it's called "device drivers" and you need to activate modules, and check studio modules. (maybe i mix here the names/terms, but it's the general idea)
then u need to download a script from steinberg site (its extention is *.D or *.dev) then u need to get "DevMAker.exe" utility, and to run it on that file, then it creates the correct device driver file. (it changes .d to .dev or vice versa) then u go in cubase to the modules, and u add this device driver... besides read the manual for studio modules.
