hello out there,
does anybody work with the crysonic plugins? especially with spectraQ and spectralive?
is the sound really good or is it more a "cheap enhancement" effect on the first hand and then tires you while hearing to the audio processed through the plugs on the long hand?

I use Spectralive and Spectraphy sometimes when do mastering. Spectraphy is imho one of the best-sounding software limiters.
Btw, all this plug-ins are made with
SynthEdit).

hi guys,
thanks for the quick answers...
@orange: could u be a bit more specific on "strange to my ears"
does that mean they make the sound artificial?
do u use them and on what if so?

when I was still on pc, I used newb quite a lot on my bass...
the harmonic exciters from crysonic get easily too strong, you need to be really careful with them and use little amounts
still waiting for the au porting of most of their plugs...

we use crysonic products, especially spectralive nxt and nxtasy. we use them to brighten up old loops or dead sounds quite effortlessly. some algorithms are quite robust there. be gentle with the mix knobs and keep comparing by bypassing the vst (i dont remember if there is an a/b button there) to see if the sound is too much...

Most of what Spectralive does to make things sound bigger is just to increase the volume... to A/B properly you often need to have the main level right down at about 20% full volume. If you turn it down you might find you can use more of the process than you think.

This is true... Their plugs do have some nice phase correction and manipulation algorithms and those can be more than useful but often they just increase the volume or widen the stereo field to make the sound bigger.
I find Cry Q to be extremely useful on individual parts of the track since it provides manual phase correction for each of the 10 EQ bands
