Crop Circles ~ 'Tetrahedron' :: DAT Records Release Date: December 2008
At long last, the long-awaited album of legendary material from the hatchling days of Goa trance is here. Crop Circles is a name which carries the weight of six true forefathers of the genre. Dating back a decade, this project which has been whispered about to the day is composed of Etnica, Pleiadians, and Lotus Omega. Names which have shaken the globe and whose works helped forge a new way of music worked together since 1996. Their debut album, Tetrahedron, is like a newly recovered treasure chest of dancefloor movers from times past, is composed entirely of tracks once thought lost, yet are now found, collecting dust on DATs and busted hard drives, and brought once again to life through cutting-edge remastering techniques.
DAT Records, an aptly named label for this release, have dug through the annals of analog and digital archives to bring the world the power and respect that tracks of the scope and talent such as these richly deserve. Eight massive, well-produced tracks from six of the truest masters and pioneers of the Goa sound all working together to produce music that still to this time is ahead of its day, yet now available to people worldwide to appreciate the energy that these sounds represent.

Track by track:
Lunar Civilization (Pleiadians Remix)
This latest collaboration track on Aphid Moon's new EP is a show-stopper. Out-of-this-world synths, glassy and hollowed out, echo amongst bass crisper than a ginger snap cookie. The sound layers build up smoothly and cleanly, and obvious attention is paid to musical structure to form a great tension builder that winds up from the moment it starts.
Antonomasia (Lotus Omega Remix)
Beginning low and slow, Megalif packs an uppercut to be reckoned with. Squishy digitalism and crackling drum riffs begin the launch sequence for a trance-induced space odyssey. Before even a quarter of the track has passed, though, the synth riffs are roaring and rolling. This ten minute saga rides you like a wave, building up and dropping you off in all the right places.
Daffy Duck (On The Comet)
Aphid Moon pours on some really funky trance flavor here. The drums work feverishly to lift you from level to level as edgy acid synths hammer out additional rhythmic and melodic progression. The sounds definitely take a more mechanical and electro disco turn which is a fresh change from the others, further illustrating Aphid's diverse production talent.
Cerealogy
Included in this EP is Tantalizer, and this track brings plenty of raw, sinister energy for those who like their music rough. Prepare yourself to be sliced by nasty saw waves and bounced about by watery, ethereal brain drops in the backgrounds. All in all delivering a peak-hour full on masterwork fit for dance floor antics.
