I think that is a big matter happening this days in our country.I think that the issue should be disgaused in the parliament and more open minded solutions could be taken. We all know that smoking is better than drinking so why alcohol is legal and hemp isn't; Because there are top companies and industries that make all kind of drinks vodka, tekila, liquer, etc. But hemp can be grown by anyone and even if companies where made for this cause they would not survive because everybody would like to grow and not to buy . So more profit is made when something isn't legal.
If it is not legal innnocent people that want to smoke some times is forced to meet with drug dealers that are dealing not only hemp but heroine and cocaine too ,Thats why every addicted person says that " first it was just a joint and then came the niddle" None said that every smoker will be a junky after a little while. In Holland young people smokes in front of all people but here young's are hidding in school's,square's and bad reputation places hanging around with junkies to smoke a puff. I would like to know everybodys oppinion, legalize or not? Give me a good reason why yes? or why no? Any kind of oppinion is accepted
God created hemp and man nuclears. Who do you trust? |

heh boom!
If it was legal, the quality of the stuff on deal we buy will be good, because u dont have the stress and fear of the law ,just to grow up the plant healthy on our greek place, other wise bad qualities like stuff from albania or chemical poisonous skank from holand.
The quality counts much on our health...and in our heads..
Now people are ill from rotten plants, addicted from the chemical element of the herb.
If the herb is clean and created with love in a healthy environment then the smoker also becames clean and healthy as the herb is,but if the herb is polluted from negative energy and chemical elements then we became poluted and negative as we smoke it.
The meaning is all about our health!!!
Smoke healthy not rusty..

Interesting discussion indeed but unfortunately this is not the right place to open this thread because according to this forum's guidelines discussions about drugs are prohibited.
P.S 1 I dont think that any addicted person ever said that first he tried a joint and then he got into heroin, this is an urban myth that the elders used to say to their kids including my mom to me and my brother when we were younger LOL.Smoking is one thing and putting a needle into your body is another so lets not confuse or connect these two things.Whoever uses heroin is stupid and is playing with death as simple as that.
P.S 2 What happened in the Netherlands is a very big and controversial issue that has turned into a boomerang according to the local authorities and people. The mayors of cities such as Amsterdam is trying to change the law and prohibit the sale of hash to foreigners and limit it just to sales to the local residents because the drug tourism has done a lot of bad things to the city, ofcourse that according to the european union four freedoms is impossible but thats another story. Also France has got many problems being next to the Netherlands and is considering limiting its boarders to them because a lot of drugs lick from Holland to France. Its a very big and not simple story.

It's a big and serious matter indeed. But we should not rush into conclusions. As far as I know, Dutch people are quite happy with their laws, and the heroin addicts percentage is still dropping. Which is obviously good, because ,indeed ,heroin kills.
The commercial domain of this matter is governed by our modern and corrupted system, which aims at profit and sales increase. Drinks, and cigarettes are also harmful, as well as kokoretsi (the real ) and splinantero.
No one will ever agree or disagree with the legalisation in Greece, because there are too many old people, too many misinformed people and too many crooks as well. And the crooks are the ones that actually make the most damage, like the ones in kriti. As long as you pretend that this is "sooooooo" dangerous and illegal, you keep it out of reach so, you do the math.
If tommorow I become a party member that enters the parliament, got some friends with guns, and decide to make .....ehmmmm...let's say coffee illegal, then I get some good money by selling it, securing it and so on. Oh, and then there will be some "Legalize Coffee" demonstrations....Imagine that !
Just a short note, I do not sympathize some crooks with guns (whatever they may sell), and I think this whole story simply shows how low level thinking there is in this (sometime glorious culturally) country. The old ladies are crying out about those dirty ol' killin hash sellers, and the adolescent but premature hash afficionados pretending to "like" those mafia dudes, coz they're cool or whatever. It's just like the fight you'd watch during the halftime of a 3rd division soccer game. Hardcore fans of both sides are so misinformed, so blindfolded, that they do not realise they're the same thing. Ignorant

i don t think that the forum considers weed in drugs.
as for me, i agree with all of you and i want to remind that if the goverment hadn t chosen to ban thc, this non-toxic substance, no such thing would have happened in crete.
i don t give right to any gangster for what he does. but the legalization would have solved all these problems and + money to the country.
as for legalization, it s never late to fight for something you believe and, to get something you have to worth it, so the sum of us have to worth it (by education and act) to achieve it! -_-_-_-_-_-_

don't think Greece is going to witness any legallisation or legallism don't know the exact term in english,
for the next 1000 years at least.
our big, fat, ugly & asxetos prime minister & his gonverment are strictly against it-i think this whole fiesta in Crete is a game,
to bring the "narcotics" problem on the table,so the
mme & civilians to be preoccupied with it & forget
the real problems of our country, asfalistiko, paidia syntakseis etc..
just a lame efford ffom 'Kwstakhs' to a make believe,
patris 8rhskeia oikogeneia shit, era or something..
and i don't think that the other members of the parliament will do anything as well..
the left party is like yelling for yeeears against "drugs"
and the sosialists-actually G.papandreou a few years ago brought a nomosxedio at the parliament about
legallise and they ate him allive..-have their own ambition problems to worry about..
our country makes good money out of drugs, biiillions from smuggling, blackmails, extorsion, mizes and stuff.
a sick country has sick assets..
and serves nobody i'm afraid a serial of new, friendly to hash users,laws..
pity...

I'm sorry ppl... I understand that this might be a major issue in the greek society the last few weeks, and that a lot of ppl show interest about it, while some others want to forget about it but,
since the subject of this discussion it has to do with 'drugs' or 'illegal substances' and its going towards political view, i will have to lock it in order to prevent several judgments, and to avoid giving wrong picture to foreigners about the specific problem...
Thanx for understanding...
