Creativity temporary Changes your perception?

When i go deep in too the creation, and the rest of the world fades away, only me and the music remains, its like my perception changes. What i just made sound different somehow, many times i get the feeling of: wow this is the best thing i ever made!.
Then i Can listen to it some Days later, and my perception have by then turned back to normal and it sounds different. Sometimes i cant see at all what i found so special in the specific thing i did which at the time was so magical. Mostly i still think its good, but anyhow its different.
Is anyone else experiencing this interessting phenomena? |

its called Desire,, we crave for this, magic,, once u have got it,, you want something else, something more, something different,, so it goes on looking for something new, something magical. it is the most common occurance in the human mind.

True .. Can agree theres an magical moments somtimes when you are in and all is possible and you can creat everything .. And then you say WoW .. ! Then listen to again and again .. This happen to all and this is normal .. (Each one with his own sound , Experience and musical work technique) .

Hehe, my girlfriend would have a thing or two to yay about this...when I sit in my little studio and I`m in the flow, I do not perceive her existence even though she is standing right next to me trying to tell me something...so yes, creativity does alter perception... 
And to your initial question, I totally know this feeling, unfortunately that happens almost all of the time, the next morning nothing sounds as good as when i made it, and 90% of the time when i produce im absolutely sober...

yeah its only natural i think. would there be a meaning in continuing making music if you would be completly satisfied with what u made?
i think its one of the driving powers that makes us continue.
you always want to improve it and that is good in my opinion. |

What I do to focus again on the magic is just imagine how would it sound on dancefloor for the first time.
The thing is we make magic fade out by constantly listening over and over. Just remember if it was real magic it'll yet be there for the ones listening for the first time. Although sometimes if something is good enough can be listened a lot before annoying listeners. |

Its the rush i live for, the creative rush, the state of flow!
The thing here is that most of us never get to the real production state. where you have all the musical ideas down, the arrangement and are happy with it.
The magic you can do in production can make your track live lifetimes to come. Also you notice things you can make better when you start to produce your music.
But there is nothing better to be absorbed a whole night or day or even days and weeks if you are lucky.
Its like being on fire inside, its like a new world is opening up right infront of your ears and eyes  And this translates to other people that listen, Man i been far out in space with psytrance, to me its a spaceship this music...
I admire this flow in all people and the focus and energy that some people have! That is glorious.

I remember this from producing under the influence  no, but if this happens, then ur tweaking the same sound for to long man, ur mind making u beleave its the best sound you ever did couse he wanna move on

@Grevinsky - I can relate to that for sure
What usually happens to me is: I stay awaked for so many hours, some times i even go through 2 days straight on just with my producing laptop and headphones, i always (without a doubt) get so focused that the rest of the world becomes faded, black and white really and i can only thing 'psycho'. Then, after a good number of sleeping hours, i'm all excited to hear what the heck came out while i was in the trance state, i press play, damn in that moment i get so confused if what i'm gonna hear is actually good or just terrible, so like i said i press play and when it finishes playing the project 2 things usually happen - Either i love it or i hate it
Sometimes i also get the puzzle effect, after some time has passed i can't distinguish good or bad things in the project.
But, if at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

these are the effects and symptoms of psycho-acoustics.
Give your ears a rest, cause they are attached to your brain.
That magical feeling is actually your mind going into a trance ,
I Think..

Great Great Topic... i think we can get in that state any time, you do hear the same thing over and over and you get used to it but when your in that state again, not thinking on what to change or how to add some fx etc.. just listening, you can have that experience again. I some times get into that state so deeply that its like beeing in a place were ideas and creativity are served, you just choose what you want and fits your needs... it makes me wonder... do this ideas come from somewhere?
smoking ganja also helps alot |

couldn't have said it better bro...
when i am in this deep mode i can get lost in it nothing is in the world just me and the program. and if i go to work or something then i am completely zoned out there, like half not there and still with the sounds.

Only a few days ago I had something like this, listened to it again and again and thought how awesome it was, the best track ever, 2 days later I listened to it, and... wow... still the same. now 1 week later, still awesome...
This happens not too often unfortunately, when it happens it is all the nicer...
the track has gone to mastering and will be on my upcoming ambient album. I wonder what it will feel like a few years from now... or after I get it back from mastering, maybe it is a hoax after all...

Haha i know exactly what you mean, Its like you walk around in reallity but not really participating because you are so busy being in the mind of the music that the world around you barely exisist.
I can become very unsocial after a good production session.

mica: That is an interessting theory. could be true. However i do not think this is a negative effect, It seems when im in this mode this is where im most creative, and the music flows most freely.
