we all suffer from that from time to time...just have to fight thru it, at the worst case just take a little break like it was mentioned above and clear you head, but dont give up. NEVER!!
the more time and effort you put in, the faster you'll get over that insecurity and reach a higher level of production!!
lately, i havent been feeling so motivated myself..
btw, what sylenth bass tutorial was that? could you post a link to it? thanks

Yeah man. I know exactly what you're talking about. Usually my thing is just to keep making music like it's my job because it is. Sooner or later you'll get over the hill.
Another thing I like to do, is just sit at the piano and just make up a bunch of music, even if it sounds like shit. I see it as a 'memory dump' of ideas. I'll do this sometimes before I go to sleep, then go to bed, and wake up the next day with some fresh stuff.
Also, because I workout and don't take any vitamins, sometimes it's just like a deficiency of something - in turn making me feel like shit, and I can't write anything feeling like shit, so I take a multivitamin.
Another thing - (haha I'm giving you a lot of random stuff here that helps me out) - go to a club and party with your friends, pick up girls. Doing social things like this can help me get out of a rut, and passionate about music.
Exercise can also be good and caffeine of course.
I remember in one of Deadmau5's interviews he said he drinks a 12 pack of coca cola for each song he finishes. It's like his standard. If you drink that much coke, how would you not be able to make music haha.

Espresso is key in finishing a new tune.
On a more serious note, I'd say try let go of all your expectations. Too often have I found myself preoccupied with an idea of what my track should be like instead of just writing music and have fun. Nowadays I try to approach the production process in a different way where I see myself as the medium through which whatever inside me is translated into "music". In approaching the production process like that, the music becomes some sort of mirror reflecting what's inside you at that particular moment in time, which makes the whole process a lot more intriguing if you ask me. Try to see it as raising a kid; the kid won't always comply with what you're deeming, but in one way or another it'll stick to the path you've lined out, adopting your values and ideas to some extent. maybe going to a good partie could help hehe , for me it s the best way to reload creative energie .
what is not good for creativty , working in the same house as you sleep , making music in the same room as you sleep is even more worst ,the brain need a separation between the place you make music and sleep for getting much more productive energy and to regenerate it , also some 10/15 minutes breaks every hours can help, arts can take lot of energy to the brain it need some break and it s good to the ears

People already mentioned what I do when we run out of ideas.
First and foremost: Roll a fat one.
Second: Don't stress about it, you're supposed to enjoy the process of making music, as well as listening to the finished tune it self.
Third: Do something else besides trance, or just take the piss...we did a silly bootleg of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" last time we run out of ideas...we just thought lets throw the cheesiest shit in the arrangement for the fun of it.
Fourth: Roll a fat one.
Fifth: Listen to music. Have you been spending all your time making music and listen to almost nothing that gets released these days (or some of your old favourites)? Just listen to the music (be that trance or something else), it was the reason you started making music in the first place.
Sixth: If everything else fails, just leave it for a while. Chill out at home, go to a party and dance your tits off (I usually get a lot of inspiration when going to parties), or just go out and have a few drinks, go to the movies, spend time with the missus...whatever.

I just got a portable audio recorder and I've found it's really inspiring to take with me and record random shit everywhere.. I plug it into weird toys at the thrift shop or sit on my floor and make stupid noises on my iPod touch or Casio SK-1. I find getting away from the computer while still being musically creative is really liberating.
YEAH!

Take yourself some time out, go into yourself and find out where the overall dissatisfaction really comes from. Maybe it is not from the music but some other thing in your life? It was like that for me once, no interest in nothing, just overall bla. Once I sorted a few other things in my life out, whoops, I was able to make music again. Hope this helps! Good luck !

Most important tip I could give, almost forgot to mention, is to do sports!
Working out, play tennis, whatever, as long as it makes your heart rate goes up and let the endorphines flow thru your body.
Then when you get back home and take place behind your desk, you'll most surely feel alot better and the musical ideas will naturally come.
Really sitting still isn't what people are made for.
You have to get your body moving.

Wait until you have an entire day free, get some coffee and then visit an art museum, especially one you have never been to.
I've always found it nearly impossible to not want to create something after seeing what so many other creative people have done, especially outside of music.

change your sequencer or start a new one ,and produce sth else than psytrance it can be psychedelic though.
I have the same phase the time now, lost somehow the fun of psytrance and cubase,I started to get more passion with ableton while making some trip hop.
I think that is quite refreshing and can help to have fun with music not just producing.
