about 6 months now... and i cant do a shit.
every little thing i try ends with hate...

the last months i tried to achieve a better
bass because my old one sounds boring to me.
it took ages, but the sylenth bass tutorial
brought me much further.
finaly i was happy with it, so i added some
HH´s... the bass sucked again... well i didnt
care, wantet to get further... so i tried to
get some leadsounds... took ages again, and
guess what, i cant make it fit to my bass.

overall im really pissed off, and im feeling
that i know shit about music... (and i made
music before i got my first orgasm...).

i heard some old tunes of mine, and i wonder
myself how i did this! nice melodies, bass
sounds ok... a stolen kick (wasnt able to
make the desired one), and nice overall
feeling.

since the last track, i spended much time
to mixing techniques, music theory, playing
the piano...

WTF can i do, to get this freaking
"NON STOP, I WANT TO FINISH THIS TRACK, NOTHING CAN STOP ME- FEELING".

i guess everyone know this^^

cheers

Try producing a different style, this usually helps to shake off some cobwebs.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

IMHO the key is to PLAY not to WORK

just have fun and if you like it, save it           http://soundcloud.com/alphadelphi

yeah, but i want finished tracks... even if
they are just for myself. i did "fun music"
nearly my whole lifetime... maybe just
"writing" funparts and stick them together,
but thats what i always do...

i wonder how ppl can make tracks that fast... i
needed 4 months for the last one o.O

i start listening some new tracks now... maybe i get
inspired, that often helped...

First of all, if you push yourself too hard to finish a tune, you will end up smashing your monitor and throwing your desktop out of the window...
Second, try to ignore production quality for now and concentrate on arranging (myself, I managed to get an almost perfect bass+kick sounding combo after months of trying, but ended up not being able to compose a simple lead to go along with them).
Try to complete shorter tracks than trying hard to fit 8 or 9 minutes of music.
When I hear tunes of other artists, most of the times I think: Big deal, he is using different versions of the same lead, I can very easily do that, but when I sit down, absolutely nothing... The answer is simple:Less is more!
How I used to work:
Waking up in morning, straight to my computer, spending all day trying and trying and most of the times, at the end of the day ending up feeling angry and frustrated.
How I work now:
I sit down and if after an hour nothing comes up I take a long break and continue later. Shorter session, but much more productive.
Finally, try to set a goal every day, eg. today I'll only work on percussion etc.
Hope I din't tire you with my post and always remember that music is supposed to be fun. If it stops being fun better take a break...
Hope I helped...           www.myspace.com/antlabros

Very similar issue here!
When I open one of my older projects of 1.5/2 years ago, I'm surprised at how creative I was back then.

lol

the problem with this is, I end up spacing out and looping a very trancy part of the tune. turning knobs and playing on my keyboard. (i don't have a piano so i've become somewhat of a master with jaming on my typing-keyboard. cords, lead , everything. Actually funny, you should see me jam.)
It does give me ideas for later with how i want the song to progress.
Being stoned also make me second-guess myself alot.

But don't put too much tobacco in there, it will kill the high and you end up feeling just emptyheaded.

might not be what you want to hear, but if i suffer from that, i just leave the fuckin pc alone for a week..

in this time i hear lots of non psy music, all sorts of indie stuff and so on..

and after a week LATEST, my fingers get nervous and my head needs some phat beats.. so it comes back all natural...

works for me most of the time, pushing things and drugs don´t really work if its not a concentration issue           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

but i definitely should focus more on it!

@medea
i dont smoke *anymore
i felt i got very slow of this devil stuff... hehe

@klippel
thats not the problem... i got enough brakes, even
more than a week... i have to get BACK into it xD

today i arranged a little start, im insecure how to
go on...

i got no main-lead/idea for this track, how can i
arrange the "way", when i dont know whats the
"goal". im sure you know what im talking about.
how do you start a track in common? you have
a big idea, befor you start, or you just putting your
best saved stuff together?
it seems like my last tracks where done by
accident^^ thats why im stucked now.

here is the beginning if you are interested.

first of all if you fill so stucked so maybe search somebody to make music together. with somebody else it might be easier.
second, i don't think you have to know exactly the idea of the track before you start it. i'm still not so fast myself, and sometimes i'm stucked. so when i stucked i just play with sounds and try few things. it happened to me even that i wrote some part and after it i erased it because i felt it is not appropriate for my track. but after few days of trying and experimenting i succeed to write something nice.
another thing is that you can always proceed your track and after go back to unfinished parts. because sometimes when we work a lot of time on some part we get tired from it and we can't tell anymore if it's good ot bad

p.s: proceed your track. it sounds good.(except for that annoying fly)
