For the same price you get a very simple "pro, studio sound card" with 4 INPUTs and 4 OUTPUTS.

Or a Creative "Toy" Home P.C sound card that can do EVERYTHING - Dolby Surround, THX , low latency ASIO 2.0 . 5.1 , 7.1 , DVD support , Remote control , front pannel and more and more and more....

so what gives? it's much more tempting to buy the creative sound cards...

can somone please point out what i have missed....

Now why do I think you're wrong? How about simple examples like artists who produce professional audio in fl studio 4.3 and a creative pci128 ?

Oh wait, it's not the HARDWARE OR TOOLS that matter, but it's the person who uses them!!!(suposedly a musician). Sure using "professional" equipement is half way there, but you don't get a good paint just because you use the best inks !!

FL Producer
It's "bad sound engine" is not proven myth yet. Soon i will post the research we have made on subject.

Sound Cards
To hear the sound quality of sound card probably impossible unless one of cards made by some ppl at street who never done sound cards before. Basically Creative cards are supposed for gaming, home cinema and music listening but could be suited for music production. To understand further what are differences make a test yourself. Install RME and Creative Audigy2, when you will load sequence you will see and hear the difference in latency. If you gifted also you would hear non sample accuracy.

Conclusion
To make good music you can use simple recorder (20$) and farts. Whenever you will master or sequence you will get into difficulties, when most advanced gear will probably make your work much easier.

got me ?

Sure, nice post.
Of course professional equipement helps, and in some cases, alot, but to say that it's necessary to make pro sound's... that's just childish!
I'll expect your research on the mythic "bad sound" of fruity.

hahaha this is turned kind of funny.. of course u can make music with ur bare hands man,, but this is electronic music, and the better the tools u have , the better the results will be. im not saying that u cant do "professional" stuff (define that word first), on fruity or acid or any other easy sequencer. but of course having more apropiate tools will make the job easier. but ill tell u one thing thats for sure... i WOULDNT           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/
