Hello.

I've been denoising things recently. I denoised some rain and got some really spacey dripping noises.

I've been denoising my hihats slightly to give them some smoothness. I've also been adding reverb, especially some dirty verb like ratshack and denoising them a bit.

Is it common to hear hats and crashes that have been denoised?

What else is good for denoising?

interesting, if it sounds better why not eventhough that's a different approach of using this effect. It's common to use denoisers for making noisy files better/restauration.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

denoising can be a great and inspiring fx
we have a lot of good 'degrade fx' right now like 'bit crushers' 'sr degraders' etc. i thinbk that is good to try another way to artistic degrade of sound like hard noise reduction on synth line (for example).
from other hand, if you have function to hear only what you cut - render it and you have great artifact sounds
Waves X-Noise have that button: Difference
