i am not sure..
but maybe u did not record at a high enough level.
when u play the part u want to export to wave, make sure the level on the mixer channel is at the maximum without clipping. Other than that i think it might be due to the quality of the sound in reason but i am not sure about that...

sorry the level you mixdown at has nothing to do with audio quality. you could just normalise whatever you mixed down to boost the level in Sound Forge for instance. If you mixdown at 24bit resolution it would help if you have the disk space, since you create larger files than cd quality 16 bit, 44.1khz wav.

I know that Reason works at 32 bit floating resolution (even more accurate) so I guess that is what you hear. If you mixdown at 16 bit then the quality of sound will not be so fine.

If I were only to use Reason as a sequencer i would export it at 24 bit and then open that up into Sound Forge. Apply some nice mastering dx plug-ins or the native SF ones to fatten up the sound, probably normalising somewhere along the line since Reason seems to mixdown so quietly.

Hope this helps,

Sax James.

It's a powerful tool, you can chop and manipulate audio with it and more besides. Good luck.

The reason down-sampling algorithm is a bit sucky.
The sound (especially the highs) realy changes if you change bit-depth and sample-rate.

So if you need to export things exactly the same as you are hearing you should export in the same format as you were listening.

Also remember that the timing of the track can improve when you export.

Personally, i figured out that if i export in maximum quality and resample in a good sample editor like sound forge i get the best quality from reason.

the problem with this is that it sounds different, like you say .,

so what i do is export all channels separately (in max quality) and use a different app to make a new mix.,
