Inspired by an Astral Projection tune that was posted in the "Acid" thread I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction with the lead that comes in at 1:36 in this tune.
I'm referring only to the sound, not the notes or pattern.
Any idea what this may have originally been played on and what a modern software equiv might be? It's one of the tunes that first got me into Goatrance waaaaay back in the day when it was on the first non-metal cd I ever bought. I've always wondered. Yes, since 1996!!

Sounds digital.
Chorus, slight phaser, detuned oscillators by an octave. No FM.

But then, 2 saw oscillators or 1 saw and a pwm modulated oscillator 1 octave below?

the one in the acid thread i was using it in the goa days, it was 15..almost 20 years ago so really can t tell you infos wihtout tweaking a synth to trying to recreat it.. it s simple patch that you probably can do in most synth but i think it may come out from a roland .
it s excalty the kind of sound we started to hate at one point.. it was the cheesy super saw of today in a way.. but with time we like it once again funny. it s when a sound cractere ,and type of patch is overly used.. what ever it is it start to tired people at one point imo, overdose.

dunno, i think we used jp8000 to make that kind of stuff, but the synth probably don t matter much.. acutally the track remind me lot of the jp8000 sound we were using.. but i havent used that synth since that time so it could sound totally different in term of caractere i have no clue.
track is from 95 and jp8000 97..

both 1 octave below,or just one?

1 octave below and the other semi detuned would have the same effect too right?           https://soundcloud.com/ancientaliengoa

A: 2 osc, 2nd octave down
B: 2 osc, same octave. 1st osc detuned -12cent, 2nd osc detuned +12cent
C: 2 osc, 2nd octave down, 1st osc detuned -12cent, 2nd osc detuned +12cent
D: 3 osc: 2 osc same octave. 1st osc detuned -12cent, 2nd osc detuned +12cent, 3rd 1 octave down

try combination of this above.
for me its B + phaser. You can do it in most vsti: synth1, sylenth1, adam szabo 1p6k          http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
