Can anyone give me some tips on creating a good voice sound? Something like in "new energy" here: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=7728

Specific synths with presets or just shaping waveforms? Any help would be nice, thanks!           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

Hey,

I'm not sure if this is a synthesized sound.

I think they used a sampler that has "female choir" or "female ohh" multisamples, then use a trance gate to get the stutter effect.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in that case, I'm sure someone will be able to help you

Yeah, most of what I hear sounds like samples, was just curious as to what other people would say or if I could be provided with a sample pack containing some voice sounds.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

If you want to try synthesizing a voice-like wave, vox oscillations and/or formant filtering would be ideal. A phaser can pull out a range of vowel sounds. It's tricky though.

What I want to know is how Younger Brother is able to get those female voices to sound like that digital catwoman yowl. Anyone know? Those samples give me the shivers every time I hear them.

While thinking of it, how does Shpongle get that voice sound at the beginning of "Divine Moments of Truth" to be exactly the same sound when played forwards as well as backwards? I'm sure people have noticed that when you play the track backwards, that voice says exactly the same thing. How is it done? I've been trying for years to replicate that sort of sound without it sounding cheap and sloppy.

I think artists of that caliber may have access to someone who can record the vocals themselves. I'm not sure of the sound you're talking about so I dunno.

I hate trying to do something others have done, but I am in love with that vocal sound in the track I posted and in others I've heard similar sounds in.          http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

@Ascension: sounds like a gated vocal pad. Like Inreal said, try to search for something like "female choir or ohhh". I have 3 options for doing this(using also the gate for that effect):

1)Cubase Sx´s plug Embracer. It has a preset(near the end) wich sound like a male/female choir.

2)Spectrasonics Symphony Of Voices. Here u can find ANY kind of choir or oohhhss and aahhss, male and female.

3)Sugar Bytes Unique. Simple synth with vowel filters. Never used for choirs, but maybe it can be done.

@Axis Mundi: What´s the sample lyrics?? Cause it´s funny how voice+words behave when played backwards. For example: Try to record the word ABA. Then play it reverse and voila: ABA again! Try to record "Idnum Sixa" and reverse it.... All I know is that I had one of the most funniest studio sessions discovering this thing! Hope it´s the same in english, cause in portuguese it was so funny!           LOADING...

I'm a lurker, but I could'nt help myself on this one. Cantor 2 by Virsyn is perfect for vocal work. Might be just the thing you're looking for. Good Luck!           http://soundcloud.com/tactile-one

I beleive that Reason 4 also has some femal choir sounds in Both the Thor and the Mastrom... I would say Reason chained into Cubase with a gate effect and some reverb.
I would also try Chopich for the gate to give a lil freq bend to the gates.           \\\"Invoking the inner dancing buddha with future frequencies from beyond\\\" ~GyPsy

@Axis..i think its a sample based synth like Krishna or Alchemy were you can load whole samples and mangle them how you like to, but on this reverse thing got no idea..
