Heya
A kick drum tutorial which we made on cubase 5 using monologue synthesizer.
In this tutorial we show how to synthesize a kick from scratch, edit the kick and final stage- designing the kick the way we like it.
hope u'll find it useful.
The final kick can be found on our website if anyone would like to use it.
comments are more then welcome! -even regarding the voice volume, video edit and so.

nice instructive video. voice volume could indeed be a bit better. in the beginning everything goes together nicely, but after you have compressed the kick it is way too loud for your voice. as i'm watching this at night i have to turn down the volume everytime the kick comes in not to wake the neighbours and then turn it up again to hear what you're saying.
aren't 4 eq's a bit excessive? the most i have used were 2 (or 3 if you count taking an old kick and doing some heavy processing on it). i hear what you're doing and why you're doing it, but it still seems like overkill to me

OBELIZK thanks!!
Pampadani, its true what you said.. the problem was that monologue doesn't have Sinus Waveform, and as well, unlike Massive for example, you cant choose a starting point for the oscilator internal loop (in matters of phase degrees), thoes things made it harder to edit the kick properly, and the Idea was to show "HOW TO"
over editing = over killing (:
Overall i think that in matters of synthesizing, theres alot to learn from the video (:

i see.
yep, i agree there a lot to learn from the video (at least for those people who have not yet spent countless hours before they finally came up with a decent kick sound ), and you do a really good job at explaining everything.
