The only thing that worries me about this is I wonder if synth makers will start using monsterous key files. I woulnd't doubt spectrasonics has much better sales than other soft synths just from the fact they are big downloads. A 50 gig download is pretty damn good copy protection.
Looks like a reall cool synth. A testiment to what happens when a company actually makes money from sales while a company like Native Instruments can no longer innovate and have to play to the lowest common demonitor because no one is buying stuff.

Those guys think ahead. First they made like 20 sample library CD's, than they used the same material for Atmosphere, Stylus RMX and trilogy (ROMplers), and finally they blend all that together into Omnisphere. Of course, they constantly add new stuff but they also say that all Atmosphere sounds have been "improved" and featured in Omnisphere... right?

So it' not like they made it from thin air...

They have also developed few cool psychoacoustic plugs with phase correction (something like BBE) and loudness maximizers. Probably they use them in ROMplers "behind" the GUI. So they are smart... they constantly upgrade the same project.

As much as I don't like their instruments I admire their vision and strategy. Advertising department has also done VERY good job.           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception"

Actually, I always thought that Stylus sounds quite rough, but I love it anyway. Some of the uppers are really goddam harsh and quite badly recorded. This is of course, not always a bad thing, but I often have issues using the hats for example without extensive recourse to EQ. Not always, but quite often.

And whats going on with the filter? Alledgedly, this is licensed from the impOSCar... only it sounds a lot better on that synth! Guess it just goes to show... not all filters are equal - right filter for the job at hand and all that.

I'd go a long way to get hold of a decent digital filter (and have). Integrated or not. End of the day, how it sounds is important, and that is all.

Have you tried Basement Arts Frantic filter?           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception"
