I really need some nice, clean, un-processed crash samples. All of the crash samples I've got sound too muddy and in a bad pitch. I know it's possible to pitch them up but we all know that they will sound like crap.
If u have some samples u could share it would be great

Some people layer crashes then eq them so they are full, yet take up the right amount of frequency.

Personally I have no idea how to do this, I found 1 good crash last year and have abused it ever since.

Pretty sad really, I could do with a guide on making crashes that fit the track.

Just get the Thomas Penton : Essential drums and percussion CD, its worth every penny. You wont need to fool around for percussion samples anymore. Really, its that great!           www.soundcloud.com/elektroakustica/sets/downtempo/

yeah, this has been one evading me for awhile too. I've got a few libraries, but same problem, either too thick or too thin, or not the best pitch.

putting some reverb, or delay adds a fuller impact, but the crash is such an important signature element of trance, I was thinking of trying to start a 'mother of all crashes' thread.

i can host a ftp site, if anyone wants to make a collection..

Try Thomas Penton's Drums and Percussion Sample cd. I will guarantee that it has what you are looking for, if not i will refund you the money*

btw Apparently Thomas Pentons Drums and Percussion 2 is going to be out soon.

This sample cd is fantastic. Kind of plug in and play if you know what i mean.

i've got a some stock samples from Battery2, and NI Elec Instruments. i think they are so-so for trance, but if any one is interested, I'll post a few..

a question, too.

does anyone think this is a good enough topic for a 'mother of' thread? i mean the crash is kind of like the punctuation element that defines a change or a punch into a new part. maybe even the unsung hero...

so if anyone is interested, I'll start it off with a few samples, and basic techniques - post if you think it is worth it

Cubasing is like Freebasing, just with audio.
Both cost more than you can afford, and leaves you sitting in a dark room with no life, craving for more.
