there are lots of different things you can do with your crash cymbal.
you can use an envelope to pitch the end of the crash. or a lfo that controls the panning.
what I often do is using a reverb on the crash sample. I then process the sample backwards with reverb, reverse it again and I got a nice "swoosh" that's appearing before the crash. the point of this is that the appearing "swoosh" got the same frequency as the start of the crash sample... it appears longer like this. with just enough reverb so that you hear it, you can make almost endless crash samples out of short ones.
A delay with different tempo signatures can work nicely aswell. also try 2 different reverbs so you can make complex delay effects.
but always think about what you want to achieve... less is sometimes more.
