Software does not become obsolete so quickly.
New version come out all the time - which does not mean you can't use the old ones. If you do want to use the new versions, there are upgrade paths, but again, in most cases, there's no reason to take them.
I can't think of a reason to replace my cubase in the next 2 years. Ofcourse there will be new versions - but it's not like this one is going to stop working.
I don't think 1300 NIS is too much.
I work for a company which sells a 100,000$ software which is MUCH less sophisticated than cubase.
And besides, what would you consider a fair price?
I bet if the price was 100$ - nobody would buy it anyway.
It's just that people don't seem to realize that software products are just like any other products.
Hardware costs so much more than software, and still nobody complains about the prices, just because it gives you the feeling that you bought something "real". |

BTW, Fruity Loops announced that they've had over 10,000 registrations so there's their first million dollars in registrations... *shrug*
