awite people....
ive recently noticed a problem on cubase's CPU Performance meter, every few seconds it flicker's like halfway to the top and down again really quickly, even when its a fresh template with no Vst's. this has happend to me before but i cant remember what i did to stop the cpu SPAZzING out like this. when i have tracks loaded, vst's etc, it does effect my performance, when the cpu is half full it flickers near to 100% and back to half and trips everything out.
Motu Ultralite Interface.
run through powerful laptop. would it be a case of uninstalling or updating Motu ASIO?.
cheers

the first things i would check are cpu/temperature/fan speed utilities or the equivalent BIOS settings and power management options. if you have that utility running, kill it and see what happens. if the problem doesn't go away, snoop around in bios and turn off various options that have to do with "optimal" power usage. either disable them or set them to some static values. you also have the power options in your control panel. again, try to set it to "optimal performance" if you have that option.
if you can't fix it by trying all of this, then post your specs (laptop model, os, etc).

Also try disabling your wireless network connection. That worked for me with a similar problem |

Possibly off topic, but this is great too:

Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me? |
