around 800 with 256 mg minimum
coombsey...
as cubase and other progs use extra cpu
and as psy uses so many layers and efx
the load on the cpu gets too much and results in clicks, pops etc...
my mate had troubles with traktor and another
prog running efx with 500 and 128mg...
upgraded to 800 and 256 and running smoothly..
still on holiday????

I've got a P-II, 64 and it obviously runs awfully.

But Nuendo works better.

the things that were done with a computer were done with a mac + logic.
the rest ... real stuff - real mixer, real synths,
real fx gear, real fluite.

I use a P4 2.0 and 512RdRam
It works flawless (no shit...)

Try using RdRam memory cards they work way better than sdram or ddr

RDRAM works Way better than DDR SDRAM?

where the hell did you get this strange conclusion?
it is proven that RDRAM has almost no difference in Speed or Performance comparing to the DDR or the original SDRAM. This is mostly why Intel chipsets are now implemented in a DDR Pentium 4 motherboards.

It depends
a 256mb rdram is faster than a 512mb Sdram
SDram that works at 133mhz rate.

RDram works at 800mhz and is capable of providing up to 1.600 GB/sec bandwidth per channel. The Intel 850 chipset implements dual RDRAM memory channels to offer 3.2-gigabytes-per-second of peak memory bandwidth

But that's more than our buddie needs for his machine ! Lol !

I work with 3d vectors all the time and lots of aplications and plugins open at the same time. I tested all kinds of machines, and rdram was the best choice for ME.

DDR is more used on Laptops actually for it consumes less power
