Hi, I'm thinking about treating my room with moving blankets. I'm thinking about getting some rolling type racks that I can hang the blankets from like curtains pull the blankets in a circle around my work space. I'll give my work space about 3 feet around to breath. Then buy and add some bass traps for the corners. I feel that for my space I'm limited to and my budget, this should work quite good. Opinions?

Blankets wont help much but the very high-freq`s, and you most ptobably have most work to do in the bass-range...

Just make more basstraps...
Thanks for your response. Yes, thats my plan though, the blankets will take care of the mids to high frequencies, and I will also buy some bass traps to place in the corners of the room, I figure this should do the trick and improve my room acoustics quite a bit

I would just drop the blanket idea alltogether and just build more basstraps... If you build them thick enough (I bought 15cm deep rockwool slabs) they will be so called ^broadband^ traps, they will work the whole spectrum. Blankets wont be much help at all...

and you could drop in some seeds in the rockwool and see them grow!

I just found out about a problem:
My monitors don't sound the same.
Well they do sound the same, it's just that one of 'm is kind of locked into the corner of my room and the other is not.
Which results in my left cornered monitor sounding all muddy and deep with a loss of clarity in the higher frequencies.
Now when I turn to my right monitor, it's exactly the opposite.
This one does sound crispy and bright but much the lower frequencies aren't as pronounced as in the other one.
I assume this is probably due to all weird reflections from that left corner.
So I tried to just block that corner up with all sorts of pillows and towels, but it doesn't really help.
Is there anything else I could try, or should I really just move my desk to the center of the wall in front of my nose?

get out of the corner...
Buy studio foam... and make bass traps.

i was looking at the GIKacoustics stuff but the shipping is rediculous if you live outside the us. it basically cost as much as the panel itself to ship it..
most cost effective way would be to build them yourself but i'm a fail handyman so what i have done for mine is:
- buy the acoustic material (i used super dense rockwool with a decent absorption co-efficient down to 50-60hz or something)
- find a carpenter to build the frames for me (this also saves having to find wood yourself plus they tend to get it cehaepr)
- put the panels in the frames myself and wrap them in material
done

Wow those prices are truly outrages for a few pieces of foam.
I think I'll have to do it myself, like:

if you have time make them by yourself ,this you tube tutorial is the way to go (i did them a bit the same with less wood for maximum absorbtion,45mn by absorbers + time to fix them on wall), just check some acoutic forums to see what density you need for rockwool or fiberglass (too much density and the high and medium might reflect )
if i remember correctly it s around 50 for rockwool and a bit less for fiberglass (for broadband absorbers) .
check homatherm flexcl too i use that in my room it seems to work great, you can check that thread on gearslutz they used it for a mastering studio in holland http://www.gearslutz.com/board/photo-diaries-recording-studio-construction-projects/304215-amsterdam-mastering-construction-thread-6.html#post3666022
