Don't know about this workshop's content, but i was very surprised that such kind of information is not given for free, especially by Cosmosis... Imho, the subject doesn't worth to be paid.
There are some interesting and useful articles on his site in free access though, so, definetely it would be interesting pack of information.
Worth reading and watching, but not buying imho. At least, until forum.isratrance.com is free of charge ;-)

why the stupid comment ?

so i was only stating my opinion, which i think entitled to am i not?
and whats wrong with the tits on this forum?
and if people want to sound like other people they can go ahead, i don't care.
but those other people already sound like that, so it would be absolutely pointless in my opinion.
i'd rather hear something new, different and orginal.
i would never buy this tutorial, unless i was reallyreally really interested in how cosmosis does his stuff, but i'm not, heck i'm not even into slower stuff. its like how many ways are there to skin a cat? he'll only show his way of doing things. it won't magically make you sound better.
so yeah, everyone who want yto sound like whoever, buy their tutorials. lol! |

I dont think anyone wants to sound the same as anyone else, But prior to create your own sound you have to get some general knowledge and techniques about the production of for example basslines. When brainstorming and trying to learn its hard to close the eyes if there are hints avalible. Cause I think the first goal is to produce the professional common sound to make sure you are capable of doing good. And then the next step is to create something unique that it your own..but i think to get that for we all need trial and error, inspiration and good knowledge about the tools and techniques..Maybe the people who bought cosmosis stuff is quiet about it=) |

Hi Guys,
The videos show some very basic stuff, like the common trance bassline patterns etc.
He also shows how to sidechain with certain applications and plugins.
The nice thing about the tutorials is he shows you how to create a synth bass SOUND from scratch using a few different synths.
The techniques are good and they work. He cuts out all the crap that you read on forums from poeple who believe they know what they are doing and really dont.
He also explains linear and exponential envelopes in detail and the differences betwen using 1 and 2 filters.
Granted the videos ar basic but for beginners they are well worth the €55 - hell i have spent more time looking for good advice on creating good bass sounds than equates to €55 and as its Cosmosis we know the information he gives you work, his experience and success is well worth €55.
You also get 3 pdf`s regarding kick drums, psy bass and sidechaining.
Worth the €55 if you ask me. And he is quite funny too !!

So where can you buy this? Does it have anything about EQ and compression on the bass? |

Hi Mazer,
He doesnt go into using EQ or compression on the bass. He does mention that he uses EQ on the bass sometiems but he says he doesnt normally use anything on his bass (except for the afore mentioned EQ).
I have used his techniques and i tend to agree with him, when u get the right bass sound from your synth it doesnt need any processing.
You can get the video tutorials from his site.

Hi there Soundmagus!Glad to see your site up and running!I also purchased the tutorials from Cosmosis and I have to say that is worth every penny of it.It is supposed to be for amateurs and most of the things he mentioned are covered in this forum (if you have the time to search), but the extra bit is worth the money.I wish other artists would take some time to share some tips with the rest of us.Waiting to see some new vids from you Soundmagus... |
