Soo much bla bla bla.. and shit chat about plugins
basslines its not about plugins, its about how they are mixed...
great producers mix them properly, normal people dont...
so when everyone claim a plugin doesnt work for making basslines its not true... its only your lack of skill
you will never make pro-basslines without decent material or knoledge... not even with a preset, because its a matter of KNOLEDGE and ear the stuff properly
i use zebra, with my very own made patch, i found zebra to be nice to add punch and weight to bassline, it also gives me alot of controle with integrated fx, i barely need to use inserts on the mixer, because the origin signal is allready very acurate in low end...

i know what will happend. out of phase, time shifting and other problems and artifacts typical for pitch-shifting.
maybe its useful for special effects but in psytrance it will only destroy bass

on a small range note variation. It will work with bass as well. I recommend MIDI on bass too, if you have lots of up and downs.

Yeah. Don't pitch shift on bass. Record the notes you want to use and put them in a sampler. Pitch shifting is going to wreck your sound. No 2 ways about it.

Ive seen work the bass both ways midi and audio , ive working into hitech darkpsy and some night psytrance and used some bass vsts like cronox , vb1, alien303, i think it depend on how you work the bass plug to get a good bassline for darkpsy vb1 with a quadrafuzz distortion,Cla bass finally filter q to clean some frequencies next i sidechain kick n bass to a compressor so frequencies dont fight and can listen a clean kick followed by a punshy bass this is what i got

..... u can also export the bass to audio to release cpu power ! |

@mental-tech: you could get away with that bass if you'd have some sub energy on the kick - which sounds a bit weak here. But like said above, it sounds good, the notes are well defined, but it's lacking sub presence. If it gets hard, make a sub layer for it
