cosmo 10 hours live act?

Yeah its pretty shameful these days. When I did my first DJ set, the organizer wanted to put me on the list as a live act since I was using laptop + ableton and I make music.....
Even though I specifically said that I would be DJing other people's music as mine isn't ready for any dance floor yet.
Sad.

More often than not the "live" issue is a promotional thing from the event organizer to get people to come to the event to see a certain act play. That's really it. It's not the artists that push people to put them as live, but at the same time most organizers won't book a producer for a dj set. No matter what the act is using. It would be easiest just to put the act's name and nothing else.

i did an 8 hour darkpsy djset in delhi some years ago, highly appreciated as far as i can remember

There was a break, when the genset got busted!!
But it was a killer act.

Yes totally agree with Greg . They should just put the name of the artist. And when it's a REAL Live they can mention it. The most important thing for me is that people like the performance and they had fun

I always liked longer sets live / dj.
This gives more room for story and makes killer vibe.

It will be cheaper for promoters. Then you just pay someone a set rate per hour for one person gig

I support larger dj sets, psytrance isnt made for one hour of continuos music.

tell me about it... i try to lay off live cause im bored with my fucking music and EVERY fuckin time... every promoter says that they don't wanna book me for a dj set unless i do a live set also... its seriously annoying...
