i would like to play long sets also, 2 hours is not enough to make a killer vibe on the dancefloor.

Cosmo has a lot of collaboration with insector, highko, kindzadza, psykovsky.... so it's not 100% cosmo music all the time.
Also i play some tracks from other artists in the middle of my live set, why not? it's all about the party vibe, you make too many rules today... just enjoy the music

i dont agree here with your point of view
if ppl called you for live act they promoted you as a live act so you should play 100% your music, yes you vs others collaborations is ok but other artists music no i dont think that should be the case.

about the 10 hours live act i wont comment because i never saw cosmo live performance... make some videos from the party so u can show us the live performance           http://www.facebook.com/BlisargonDemogorgonBhooteshwara

10 hours liveact? Pretty extreme if you ask me.

For me, I can imagine a 10 hour liveset getting boring even with most of my favourite acts. I mean, who has REALLY made enough good music to fill out a 10 hour timeslot, keep it diverse and interesting, while maintaining a high quality throughout the set?

It would maybe be a great concept with a guy like Simon Posford. Starting with some hours of the slowest Shpongle, Celtic Cross and Younger Brother stuff. Then moving into increasingly more intense psychedelic trance, peaking with the older goa tunes before finishing with some of the groovier and somewhat dancefriendly Shpongle-tunes.

Maybe I could also see it work with the guys from Son Kite; some of the downbeat stuff from Ooze, Minilogue (CD2 of the album), tech house, minimal and techno with Minilogue, progressive house with Filur/Kooler and finally progressive trance with Son Kite.

But otherwise the 10 hour concept quite frankly seems absurd to me. Even if I haven't heard much of Cosmo's music.

... Long DJ-sets is another matter though. With so much exceptional, diverse music to choose from in the world, I find it sad that the standard is 1½ hour timeslots. Would love to hear long, evolving and diverse sets from good DJ's like Sasha, D-Nox, John Digweed, James Monro etc.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Taste is taste. I would personally be very bored with Posford for 10 hours. Actually I dont know any artists I would listen to for 10 hours           www.beatagency.dk

Well, that was actually also my point

I definitely find it hard to think of artists that have made enough good and diverse music to fill out a 10 hour timeslot.

But of course taste is taste. Haven't heard much of Cosmo's music, but maybe some die-hard-fans will love 10 hours of it.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Star Sound Orchestra played for about 10 hours in the chillout at Boom in 2000 - my mate was playing after them and they over ran by about 1.5 hrs!

In the days of disco/early house it was pretty common for the DJ to play all saturday night and a fair bit of sunday morning...

We played 4 hours live at Club V-SO in Switzerland once; 2x 2 hour sets with an hour's DJ set (of more of our tracks!) in-between... that was an epic evening and people tell me we got away with it in terms of variation. The thought of playing 10 hours live makes me want to shave my head and join a nunnery.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I find that most psytrance live acts get tiring after about an hour and a half with few exceptions. This has everything to do with individual producers writing music all of a particular sound... it gets tiring to hear the same thing without much variation for hours on end even if it is super awesome to begin with.

On the other hand, I am into long DJ sets. In the right hands, many hours can go a long way toward creating a transcendental experience (as long as the DJ is diverse enough in what they play). At least, this is what I aspire to do.

IF the party is advertised as such (dark psy for at least 10 hours), then I don't see why they should not do it. Everyone knows what its all about. It will attract the crowd that is up for it and people that don't wanna get caught into such a situation will not attend.
Simple as that.

Anyhow, its been said a lot lately and I'll simply echo the long DJ sets, attitude.

Peace out.

Concerning this pseudo live act like almost everybody do is really disrecpectful of what is a real LIVE. Personaly I don't do that and I am not able to do. I use ableton live and I mix it in with 2 audio channel and I use time warp. So organizers they all put LIVE but it's not (marketing) . A real live is with patterns and loops. And the worse is artists who just put trax after trax in ableton and put play.
I think I saw that only one time in my life with 3 guys in a wood and 3 machines. One for the bass, another for rythms and another for lead. Amazing by the way.
In conclusion I think they should found another name when u are playing your trax. What is the difference to mix with CD player or in ableton :S.           Nia KOR
