Hello everyone! I just recently found this forum and after reading some nice discussions I decided to post my first topic. I just felt like sharing this with you, because you might even enjoy it

Inspired by the rainy autumn weather here in Finland I decided to compile an ambient cd which would remind me how to find happiness even from the sad and melancholic mood which so often dominates during that dark season with not even a hint of sunlight for weeks. This cd was also inspired by my beloved friend. She's kinda melancholic type of person, but she's one of the most positive and innocent people I know. I called this compilation "Cosmic Emotions".

The tracklist looks like this

1. Innersphere - Out of Body
2. Jaļa - After the Rain
3. Xangadix 2 - Biospace
4. The Putney - Angel Circle
5. Trax Beyond Subconsciousness - Ice
6. Spyra - Future of the Past
7. Bedroom - Antarctica
8. Swandive - Exit 101

A little description of tracks:

1. Out of Body. I have a feeling that these guys wrote this track after having out-of-body experience themselves. And if projecting your astral body feels this wonderful, I really wanna try to experience it myself also (I have a hypnosis cd from Barrie Konikov which should make it easier, but no luck yet even though I've been really close ). As far as I know, this was only released on Ambient Soho - compilation.

2. After the Rain. One of my alltime favourite ambient songs. These guys deliver so much beauty in many different forms and all in one track which still remains consistent the whole 9:32 time. An emotional masterpiece which is released in many places (Jaļa album, Chill Out 4) and most of you probably know already.

3. Biospace. Electronic violins play very emotional and beautiful melody along the undefined ambient sounds in this space age classical ambient track (what a definition!). For me this is the best track from the producers Pino & Wildjamin and was released through Pete Namlook's great 'Fax +49-69/450464' - label.

4. Angel Circle. The master himself, Pete Namlook, with the old veteran from 70's, Ludwig Rehberg (he was a synth assistent for Pink Floyd when they were creating Dark Side of the Moon). Somehow simple, but incredibly beautiful piece of floating ambience with angelic screams that make my spine shiver every time. No words can do any justice to this timeless classic. Released in a few places, The Putney cd and Ambient Cookbook 1/Fax Compilation 1.

5. Ice. One of the 'nicest' ambient tracks I know. Quite repetitive but never boring, this one leaves you in a very pleasant mood. From their album, which could be impossible to get anywhere now.

6. Future of the Past. Maybe the most beautiful electronic symphony I've heard. Somehow sad and melancholic but still full of hope. This one helps me to trust in brighter future some day. From his early album of the same name.

7. Antarctica. Daniel Pemberton composed this track in his bedroom studio. It sets your course to the land of eternal winter and its beautiful icescapes. Bedroom was also released through Fax.

8. Exit 101. She's a singer/songwriter and this must be her interpretation of psychedelic experience. One of the most beautiful I've heard and imho perfect closing for this album. I have this in Dream Injection 5 compilation.

Feel free to comment or recommend more tracks that have some kind of undefinable emotional charge in them. Happy winter to everybody!

first of all welcome to this forum.

I also did quite a few compils like this. not sure it was good as a compilation but it was for my self listening and I liked it that way.

great selection of tracks you have there even though I remember only 4 of them..

one I especially like is the Spyra track. remember their Etherlands album? what a masterpiece. I really liked one of the tracks there.. can't remember at the moment..

PS, what do you say about spreading such self bootleg user mixes? I wanted to do so but I didn't want to release and harm in a way those artists I liked so much.

but on the other hand - it's a mixed compil. sometimes even 70% of the track. what other use one can do from it other than listening and enjoying this selection of music?

I ended up keeping it to myself...

Thanx Dreamer. I also have 'Etherlands' and also the previous one on Fax, 'Sferics'. I think they're both excellent! In Etherlands there's a track that somehow reminds me of 'Future of the Past' (even if it's faster) and that's number 3 'Monotonous Stereo Part 1'. Track 4 is great beatless piece of ambient and track 5 great party-fun track.

Nice to hear that you've also made personal compilations. About the question of spreading... I made this cd only for me and my close friends, so I consider that no artist revenues were lost. I believe that good people always get their share and as long as they can get enough money to keep them in making music, they are only happy if someone is sharing these beautiful moments they created with his friends. But of course somebody has to pay...

Zombi: Those tracks are released on various labels and I don't know all of them. This cd is of course not released... I sent this post to you merely for individual trackspotting

Nice to be here already.

Beautiful.
You have a good taste, imho.

I also feel as if jaia's 'after the rain' is one of the most beautiful touching tracks I've ever heard.

I wish you a lot of warmth there in Finland!
