Ive been listening alot of Cosma (may he RIP) tunes.I can say definetly more then any others producer.
The tunes doesn't seam to be complicated production wise, simple progressions,no fancy sound .Yet he had tunes that just capture you and does not let you go.
Are there any producers with similar feel and "soul" to his tunes?(not even sure if this is correct forum to ask even)

Cosma was very good when it comes to less is more. His sound was never too crowded, and each sound sounded very good on it's own. I still listen to his tunes sometimes. To me he was the peak of the late 90ies. And he definitely had his own style too.

Cosma rocks! Still listen to those tunes . Not too complicated, your right, but he builds a good groove and creates psychedelia with tact and subtlety.
I find Logic Bomb's old stuff to be similar, though less bouncy and a little darker. But subjectively, to me, quite similar.

About avihen livne a.k.a cosma never liket (Imo to soft For a party) Was nice hearing this tunes here and there in pubs and those with a good beer , But (And again .. Imo) And (without any connection to his tragedy) I think this music is 'Undanceble' (For me) - Also at the time .. (Didt liket his bass and kik - Was into Techno & techTrance those days So maybe this is another reasone of why) And sure today as Vermeee wrote the sound of those days are very boring and 'Empty' But will be realy interesting remix it again and fill it up with an new/Modern sound & texture in .

well i agree with u...its total undencanble for me nowadays..but there s something that i find it funny...
in 2003 in the festivals the cd NONSTOP was NONSTOP played at the dancefloor hahahah and i remember how the dancefloor would GET ON FIREEEEEEEEEEEE when a COSMA tune was playin... specialy after the LONG BUILDUP BREAKS....
but listenin to those tracks today i just cant understand how such thing happened in the past...
but i just cant ignore that in the past i was put on fire while listenin to those tracks...

cosmas music was all about the "simplicity". it purely lived from the vibe it created and is a perfect example on how good music does not need much to put you in a certain positive and psychedelic state.
sound design and aesthetic and clever use in arrangement are the key for that imo.
i wish there was more music around like that still. today the genuine art of "less is more" seems like a relict from old times.

+1.
Cosma was for me the best thing to come out of Israel...actually for me it was the only style of music I ever liked from Israel.
Peace out.

Well,I personally can agree with many of the flaws you mentioned Cosma tunes had,but there are couple of things that are very much missing for me in new tunes.
For example, not enough effort in many of modern tunes to build scene.Cosma in his minimalistic ways always had "nature sounds" in his tracks,or an effort to put some scenery in the track.
The use of pads and drones which were evolving slowly. This is actually what I am interested to know of how it is done, the movement of drones and pads.Nearly not enough tunes that I hear today which have that full use of those.
Putting stuff in its place,he was master of delay and reverb. He let each big reverbed sound die till the end without putting something else in the arrangement. He had a lot of small reverbed sounds in the background which you could barely hear,in background of some pad.Which gave it good contrast and good impact on listener.
He might had crude sound by today standarts, but it sounds as he actually tried to work towards really being on the listener side instead of trying to shove everything in the mix and complementing yourself on good production skills .
So this aspect of Psychedelia I find worthy of emulating and looking for more tunes of this kind to see what similar tunes can awoke the emotion in me.
P.S:In one of the parties ive been lately here in Israel some dude played his tunes, and even after 10 years they rocked people harder then ...well,other tunes (not to be disrespectful).

The thing with Cosma and that style of production, is... that he "said" so many things with so little "talking", whereas so many people nowdays are all "talk", yet they are "saying" nothing.
Peace out.

Only act I've head that pays tribute to Cosma with their sound is LOUD, some remixes were done and they still play some of his stuff too. Don't think there will ever be anything quite like Cosma though.

2001 - 2003 full on was so fresh and we hadnt not evne half of the number of the producers we have today..and maybe not even 1/5 of the psytrance tracks we have today...
it had room for a LOT of new sounds, rythms, atmosphere, and basicly most sound would be new... its like 10 years behind in sounds and ideia...
so no surprise that a MASTER PIECE that showed up in 2001 - 2003 could be so SIMPLE...
if those cds were released today i doubt they would reach that popularity...
go and put simplicity-nonstop cd to play in a dancefloor after a live from procs or kidnzadza or ocelot or even oood... it ll feel like half of the track s missing......
now if u put that cd after an ISRAELI FULL ON live/dj set...yea it ll be marvelous...coz their sound still the same its been 10 years..
