I love those tracks you posted Nectar, how you been mate? long time!

Yeah I've been very well mate. Making trance tunes but taking the tempo down from time to time for some techno(ish) stuff.
Remixing another Frank'e (KoxBox) & Illinton tune these days for release on Frank'e's techno label Tago Mago.
It was too hot to make music in Athens the past 3 weeks, saved money for air con but ended up spending it on NI Maschine and just got a cheap fan

Hope all is well on your side as well mate.

Peace out.

Sounds awesome! Koxbox are legends! Haven't heard Franke's Techno side or yours for that matter but it does sound intriguing! drop me a link when you get a chance.
Well a NI Maschine IS way cooler than a crappy air con! LOL

Yeah been well here mate, haven't produced Trance for a while, had friends from Greece stay with us for past 3 Months and could never get a moment to myself to work on anything, kind of had withdrawels! lol

I also been busy with producing tunes for a video game (IOS+android devices) so that takes up any spare time i may have.

I see you are becoming a bit of a hardware nut! lol Me too!
I have 6 synths, 2 moogerfoogers and just recently upgraded my monitoring system!
I will upload pics in the studio thread when i get a chance.

Great to hear from you mate.

I have been a hardware but for over a decade.

This is a pic of my old bedroom in Cambridge in 2002.

Peace out.

Nice pic Nectarios! I have been curious about a mixing board for a bit now. Maybe I could pick your brain a bit about this? What purpose does it serve in a modern DAW based studio, if any? I was thinking maybe just getting the sound of going through the board? Or maybe it's because you are running so much outboard gear? Anyway, I'm just curious if there's cause for a mixing desk when I have a virtual one in front of me. I guess there's the hands on aspect but aside from that what other advantages do you find you gain from using one?

I don't use a mixing desk today, I just mix in the DAW. I would only use a hardware desk if it was something very good that actually adds to the sound. I had the Soundcraft Studio 8 and the Mackie 32 channel 8 buss. Both desks sounded very average, good for some distortion when overdriving the channels but I mainly used that desk for monitoring and for the returns of my outboard FX. All my mono recordings where done via the Joemeek VC1Qcs that I had the extra SPDIF card fitted on and was recording digitally into my Delta 1010.
You need something like upwards 3-4k€ to get a desk that would actually add to the sound.

It looks cool and is comfortable when your soundcard has limited I/O, but that is about it.

Peace.

Whoa modular plus external effects units! That would be so much fun!
