does anyone know which convolution reverb vst works in the most efficient manner?
out of this list please: Voxengo Pristine Space - Waves IR 1 - Audioease Altiverb - NI Kontakt 2.

efficient = low cpu.
thanks in advance

What's the difference again between convolution reverb and just standard reverb?

convolution can sound sometimes really amazing.
to me it works like this: you drop a convolution sample (which is a roomsimulation) into a convolutionreverb and hear what happens with your sample. only know kontakt2 for this, works fine. i have dualcore processor.

in simple terms convolution means that they "sampled" the actual room you hear in the reverb so what you are actually hearing is a simulation of how the sound you put through the reverb would sound like in that room.
and by room i mean any sort of space.

and as for the efficiancy question...
i know for sure that the voxengo is better than the IR1 in that matter dont know about the rest though.

I've started using that a bit recently, is it me or does Reverb A actually not sound too bad???
I have 'better' verbs, but I quite like it

have you find the one you were looking for ?you have a quality setting on the voxengo one , just tried it today and i think it s the best but you need a good ir librairie. a feature i like a lot its you can load a different ir for the right or left channel ( you have 8 channels in total ) and each chanel have is own setting(stereo width,eq .....) great for stereo effects.

out of whats out there I think that wizoo reverb is one of the top, presets are very good, which is an important thing when it comes to convolution reverbs imo.           ~Airyck~

sir is the lightest on the computer that I've used, but it's buggy.
Alktiverb sounds the best, i think.
and it comes with quite the selection of convolutions.

thnx, using altiverb for a now while and like it... was just wondering if there is something of the same quality with less cpu, will try voxengo as i adore their products.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."
