I have recorded some of my dj sets in .wav form, i made the queues on them and all and when i burn it on a cd, it plays perfectly, no gaps or skips and with the indicated queue marks. some of my friends ask me to send them the sets, so i used cdex to convert into mp3, so its faster to send online. they complain to me about very small gaps between each track even when they use "no space" feature or "disc at once"... i am thinking it is possible that cdex is doing this, or the specific setting i have in cdex... cause i encourtered the same problem on my website when i tried to loop something that sounded perfect in wave, but not a perfect loop when i uploaded it in mp3.

can anyone recommend me a diffrent mp3 conversion software, or possbily what i'm doing wrong in cdex? - Thanks.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

...don t know about cdex...chk out cdxtract, should work properly...or otherwise get sound forge or wavelab with a lame encoder...

what r u playing the mp3s in?

if its winamp, well, winamp itself is incapable of switching from one track to another without a small gap - doesnt matter if its mp3, wav, or even an audio CD, it wont damn well do it. that was my experience anyway.

the solution is to get the Gapless Output Plugin - works great most of the time, tho its not infallible.           http://www.dartrecordings.co.uk/

no, the mp3 are just a temporary state of being for transfer purposes... after that my friends try to burn the music onto a cd so they can listen to it in their car or anywhere else...           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

After the conversion, open the mp3's in sound forge. Check for any silence in the beginning - even a few samples in length.

i think the problem is in their player and/or burner software. you can take the mp3 trax , expand them into wav again, and see if something is added.
if you do everything ok - nothing should be added.

maybe you should post your friends a link to a tutorial "how to create audio CD" or something.

bom.
p.s. nero has this option "remove silence" in audio cd project.
