Hi!
I have the following problem:
I need to control of a hardware synth (the almost knobless Roland Alpha Juno-1). I want to control the deeper functions (not only program change). It's possible to do that with sysex-messages.
What I want to do (or better: what I dream about):
- To control the Alpha Juno in realtime with my M-audio Radium 49 (that can send cc-messages but no sysex)
- To run cubase while I do that
- If possible: to record those control-movements or at least to record an audio-file while tweaking the synth
Or in other words: to have a vst-plugin that has knobs/ sliders that can be controlled via cc-messages and automatized like a normal vsti and that sends sysex-messages to a midi-port/ the connected hardware.
Unfortunately I use Cubase SL3. Afaik SX has a build in feature (called "device maps" or so) that would do exactly what I want. So I'm simply looking for a vst-alternative to those device maps.
I know that there are several software editors out there but I wonder if it would be possible to run them at the same time with cubase(cubase for sequencing and the editor for tweaking) and not to get conflicts with the two programs that both need to use the midi-port of my soundcard (Terratec EWS 88MT) at the same time. And afaik it's not possible to control the knobs/sliders of those editors anyway. I'll get the Juno next week so I can't try that yet - but I think it won't work anyway.
Do you have any tips for me?
Thanks in advance - martyn

afaik it accepts some basic cc-messages for e.g. pitchbend, but not for filter-cutoff etc.
