Hi Id glad if somebody could describe it here ina eazy going way.I have this problem since I make - music on cbase&nuendo - since 07.Never solved my prob untill now unfortunately.LEarn midi is so much better than some submissions with generic sth numbers here and there.I just want to let my oscilators control properly,with spirit and not mouse.I want to use the controlls of my 8knobs 2 octave oxygen keyboard lol.In my line Im strikin again make it with mouse ,I wanna record this way,I use vanguard and need osc1 osc3 osc3 the semis and the vcs ,fat and age-parameter on controllers for satisfying innner spirit recording.That should be enuff for a recording.Then I could change the paramteres.If I only know how.
Blessings

you probably have to use record, and midi merge..

dunno about midi CC´s for vanguard or if it has midi learn..

if you can locate generic remote then maybe you can map the parameters to your oxygen knobs..

good luck

thank you for reply. Yes I think I got that map in steinberg,but it still does not want to work as I want.There are two windows and some more options ,I already tried .I connected on fader one vanguard than at the numbers I got tha list with parameters and selected for 8 "faders" my wanted parameters but it failed to suceed though.This is sth I really dislike in steinberg products this routing complexity.
.. Vanguard hasn't midi learn but he's one of my best friends nevertheless.

abt setting up generic remote in cubase; its not that hard (if somebody tells you, like it was told to me);
1. in device set up (left part, devices) you click on midi and then click the plus (top left) and you select from the pop-up-menu generic remote (this GR comes then in this left list) then you select this GR (blue)
2. in the right screen on the top generic remote midi input/output you select your controller (usb-device, or something like this) for in (and out if you like).
3. in the right screen you go to the lower box part to devicecolumn, then you select first line and under device you select the thing you want to control (for example taupro) probably by clicking on VST-mixer there comes a new pop-up of instruments/parts you can control.
4. then in same lower boxpart you select under channel/category what aspect of f.e. taupro you want to tweak with this first fader/knob, like cutoff (all the parameters you can automate on taupro you can see here).
5.then you go to the box above it. select the first line (blue) you turn the knob on your controller you want to use for cutoff on taupro and you push on learn there. you probably see under address a number like 16 appearing for cutoff of taupro. and also on the vst you should see the cutoff knob move.
6. repeat for fader2 for other aspects. etc3, 4 etc., untill you run out of knobs on your usb-controller or untill its enough for you.
7. click on export, and save this file where you can find it back (next time you want to tweak taupro like this you open device setup and by clicking on import and doubleclick the previous exported file you can tweak with your GR., maybe inbetween push on apply or so. hope it works for you like this. ok.
