Please ppl, if somebody can explain this. In Cubase its easy, just assigning a MIDI track to the VST channel, But in Logic the VST effects are on the same channel as the instrument. Where I have to go so that a MIDI track can control a simple midi-trigger gate effect for example.

Please HELP me on this!

Controlling VST plugins using MIDI controllers is rather easy (MIDI CC#), the only thing that is tricky in logic is sending MIDI notes into a VST effect.

Every VST that has a MIDI in can be an instrument, instead of being just an insert effect. Once it's and instrument, you can use its side chain input to connect an audio signal into it.

There are no many of such fx out there.

cheers

PS: Triggering Audio with MIDI is rather simple though using a noise gate which is sidechained to an audio triggerrer...

Trip - have you had any luck controlling VST effects through a midi controller in Cubase/Nuendo 3 ? In Nuendo 2.x all my VST fx used to show up as devices in Generic Remote, as of version 3 they don't anymore ?

Thanks.
