No, I donīt think itīs fair to drag outsiders into our private problems, so better off not telling who they are.
So we donīt really have to be scared about them making a fuss if we, for instance, put the track on the web?

In Finland that's usually the case, but the court may decide to divide the expenses between the parties if for example it is clear the losing party doesn't have enough money to pay the bill.

And isnīt it so that we can get the documentation from banks and money-transferes that we actually never recieved any money?

You get a monthly paper from your bank which lists the transactions (money moved to and from) your account, don't you? I think those papers would suffice. However the label could claim that it's not the bank account to which the money supposed to be paid. Then you'd probably have to prove you don't have any other accounts.

And no, money isnīt the case here, so can we claim that the contract isnīt legal, and that we therefore still own the track?
Thankīs

Well maybe you shouldn't even bother taking the case to court, unless you really want an official declaration that all the track's rights are still held by you.

welcome to the virtual real world of trancemusic.
its good that you make this experiences now. this means that you dont need to make them later. 50% of the "business-trancers" are just shouting bla bla bla and seem to be real-life-loosers.
if you found someone like this, run as fast as you can. they didnt released you track. and you gonna make them clear that they never will do if they want to have a relaxed life in future. everything is fine man, search another label for this track. if they plan to release it anyway. put the track online for free, you allready said its old. you can still put them to court anyway after doing this. |

Collin OOOD: Thank you! That was a really usefull piece of advice!
Luckily our album is signed to label of a friend, so no need for stress with him; new, but completely trustworthy and in Finland, as we are. Luckily, Iīd say, we got this experience this early, and with only one track. Could have gone all terribly wrong!
Thank you all for responding and giving really usefull pieces of advice and things to keep in mind in the future!
