Connections between a controller and the PC

I´m gonna get a controller keyboard (M-Audio Ozone) and i´d like to know how should i connect them. I know nothing about this question. I´d also like to know what is "MIDI Thru" connection for.

read this -> http://www.computermusic.co.uk/tutorial/midi/midi.asp it will give u a general idea on midi, u might need a midi interface but I doubt it since most of the midi controllers now day have USB connection
