hello all,
I am writing on behalf of a friend here, who is wishing to connect his roland groovebox up via midi. Now unfortunately i would know jack about this, as i haven't delved into hardware..YET  . So i thought ill approach you guys as to how he could connect it up to cubase? Also, how would he go about actually putting in patterns, as the groovebox is pattern based?

First of all he needs a midi cable.
If he has a midi input on his computer, then just plug it there.
If not, then there are special midi adaptors to plug in to joystick connector on the motherboard or sound card.
About actually using it, consult the manual

Roland grooveboxes aren't the best midi receivers I've noticed... I have a 505 and midi connection fails every time I try (and yes, with the right settings, trust me). They just aren't good at midi... What they receive is pure nonsense. |
