Hello guys..
I´m thinking to buy a eletronic drum pads to create better percussions at my tracks..
So..I don´t wanna buy a complete drum to do this..because I just will use 3 or 4 pads...and I don´t need the module to make the sound, I will do this with VSTs...
I´m thinking to buy just these 3 or 4 pads and connect into computer...but I can do this without a module, directly by MIDI...? Or I need the module just to the Midi Conversion..?

if you are talking about pads for a drum kit, like Alesis DM5 (http://www.alesis.com/dm5kit), then i don't think you can do this without a brain. but if you are talking about something like ControlPad (http://www.alesis.com/controlpad), then you definitely don't need anything else. the pads just send midi on/off and velocity data, just like any other midi controller. just connect it via USB or midi outputs to your computer and you are good to go.

Yeah..i´m talking about drum pads of electronic drum...
I think about control pad too...but imo we have more ergnonomic advantage with individual pads...mounting by your necessity...
I will buy the pads and the most cheap module just to the conversion...
thank you for attention |

yeah, a drum kit would definitely be more fun. i know this stuff is a lot more expensive in brazil, but here in the states you can score a used electronic kit for about $300-350 if you are patient. i've been thinking of getting one on several occasions, but i simply don't have space for it. so i just picked up a ControlPad and use that to practice some drum rudiments.

yeahh..all stuff here is very expensive because we pay 60% of taxes for governament...from a watter bottle to a new car...
If you pay here 10 reals for a lunch...6 reals are for taxes...
here a ControlPad are found by 1500 reals (US$ 750)..
And just a Dm5 Alesis Module...is arround 1600 reals...
all brand new...
But i will buy StaffDrum pads + hardware...and some cheap module..used...i will spend arround 1000 reals...

My MIDI controller has 8 drum pads, but instead of using them for drums, they send MIDI CC messages to the patch bay matrix of my Virus
