Mate is gunna sell me a amd Athlon 1.8 ghz dual core with 2gb ram for 30qid..question is, is it gunna be better wiv wot i already got...AMD Athlon 64 single 2.21 ghz with 3 gig of ram..?? cheers

take it for that money
and upgrade some more ram 2 or 4gb (you can find really cheap ram these days) and you will work fine for some time.
keep it clean and do some windows speed up settings (disable many stuff) and will be ok 
 ...into the wild.... |

... yeh it now a 4giger..will do me for abit, and it can handle the extra 20% odd on ablton than the other, not significant but its improvement so all gud plenty enuff at mo,cheers for response's..!
