just let me correct the myth of "dual core CPUs" a little bit because i see that ones are hyped up. such a multiprocessorsystem needs software which support multiproccessing, as far is i know cubase dont support that (who knows about future releases, i think they will done one day) for example. if the software doesnt support mp the second cpu is not running, because the mainboard-bios or the desktopsystem is not able to manage that on their own.
AND also IMPORTANT TO KNOW: putting the same CPU next to the default-CPU in case of upgrading it meens NOT that the system runs with the double speed know, the perfomance will only be 120%-150% not 200% (reasons: shared RAM and BUS)!
dualcore is an old thing which exists since ages, dont get blind because AMD is pushing the marketing. trust me i study such things and i remember my professor:" if you want a good system with mulitprocessors, dont be dissapointed because its not the big thing as the firms will tell you..." |
