another q will be about my ram
i had 2X512 , and added new 1GB to that. i think maybe i should buy another 1GB the same and get the 512 out?

I am not a full_on computer geek but most the mother boards I have owned have wanted the RAM paired up in equal amounts. Check your motherboards manual to be sure.
As a rough guide I read that doubling RAM improves performance by 50%. Don't know if this is still true.
Clicking noise, searching? what do you mean by searching?

Regarding the RAM, you should always try and balance the amount in the 2 slots.
If you have 2x512 mb in the left slots, try using 1x1 gb in the right one.
