I use the Antec P-180, Id say its pretty quiet but when it comes to quiet cases its a pretty hard to say since its your components that generates the sound. I have watercooled my cpu and bought a passive cooled GPU which is the components that consumes most of the power inside the computer.
Next step will be to put pads inside the case to absorb more.
Recommendation would be to look for a case that has a good flow of air since better flow=lower speed on fans.
It should be built with plastic materials since they absorb better than metal cases.

I have an old sonata, and I have been very happy with it....apart from the PSU that died on me.
The Sonata III have an Earthwatts PSU though which doesn't seem to be fairly reliable.
Rubber mountings of HHD's help to reduce noise, and the newer ones have ducting for the CPU which helps to keep the case cool without the fans working too hard.
Of course there is better cases, but for the money the Sonata seems like an excellent deal considering you get a quite good PSU that costs almost as much as the case if you buy it on it's own.
If you spend double of the price of the Sonata to get a separate PSU and chassi you will be able to get a cooler and more quiet setup....something like a P182 and a Corsair HX520 for example.
But if you are not willing to stretch to that the Sonata seems like a great option.

any mid to high priced case would do.
antecs have good quality and nice build but like allready said its the compnents inside that generate the noise.
i also have watercooled my cpu and have a passive cooling gpu and a heatpiped psu.
ensure good airflow like well said allready and mount your hardrives on rubber mounts to avoid noise form shaking drives.
acoustic isolation inside might be good but it rises the temp a bit.

I have the old sonata & the new P182, and the P182 is a significant enough improvement in sound dampening. The old sonata isn't bad, but the newer is better. Just beware, as the PSU mounts on the bottom, and you're better off wrapping the power cords around behind the mobo, so make sure the psu internal connector cables are very long.

Yeah I also have the Antec P182, it's good case, it looks sick, it's pretty quiet, it has a lot of useful features, like easily removable hard drive shelf with rubber gromits, two separate areas inside the case, cable management system under/behind themobo, it has rubberized holes on the back for watercooling pipes, three fans. I like it |

Can't remember the PSU to go with the P182 off the top of my head, but the cables were just long enough, not much to spare. My suggestion would be to read the reviews on http://www.newegg.com - I recall some users mentioning specific PSU's that worked for them. I find the product reviews by users @ NewEgg to be an excellent source of real-world information & suggestions, even if it takes time to wade thru them all.

That antec is pretty expensive and will have to wait for a while.. But I need some instant improvements.. Can those sound dampening tracks like on antec be bought separately? I was even thinking of sponges in tape that are for sealing windows.. And I think that rubber that goes on the screw can be bought in any electrical shop.. What u guys thing about that?

maybe get some new fans and update the case later?sometimes noise come from fan and vibrations so not sure pannels ll help.
thanks Kadavr,i guess the hx 520 have same cables |

I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly but I have a bunch of these on the inside of my casing:

This made quite a difference.

Try dealing with the most noisy component(s) of your system first. It is very often the CPU or GPU fan. (Stock CPU fans are usually noisy. Especially the new Intel fans). You should be able to tell by just opening your PC case and listening to what makes the most noise. (Move some files around to see how much noise the disks make and stress the CPU so that the fan needs to speed up to cool it down [1]).
As Vegetal mentions, air flow is very important: My PC is relatively pimped-up (Lian-li casing, the whole interior is covered in damping material, all the disks are in their own damping cases, the CPUs have Zalman quiet coolers, there are 2 Kama Scythe fans on the front and a Papps fan on the back) but because the PSU fan doesn't move much air, I have to run the other fans faster than necessary.
The PSU is an Antec TruePower 550 Watts. It does it's job well as a PSU but just doesn't move enough air out of the top of the casing.
Something to keep in mind...
