What are some really high end software compressors and eq's as well as mixing tools other than Waves? |

Thank you Andy, and as for Fragle, obviously hardware is better, but I'm tight on money. What are actually some high end hardware compressors under $1000? |

before buying hardware i would go for uad-2. as good as hardware and better than waves imo. compared to waves i think you get more using sonnox or flux plugins.
personally i mostly use sonalksis and psp for some reasons. and wavearts are not bad for certain purposes too.
concerning eq's the best cost/performance ratio has the apulsoft imo. not worse than many more expensive plugs.
voxengo also features good quality for a reasonable price.
i know waves are top notch but i think they are a bit overrated and too expensive. just my personal opinion... |

I dont know under 1000, but you can get an Empirical Labs Distressor quite cheap, especially if you buy it used. Ive heard good things about Chameleon Labs stuff, altough never tried it out. And why not just wait a month or 2 extra, and then buy what you really want?

Izotope Ozone 4, it is an amazing tool, you will find all you need there.
But, if you are looking for stand alone plugins.
For EQ:
PSP Audioware-Squad and MasterQ are really good EQs.
For compressors:
URS are great and of course all Flux plugins where you will find both compressors and EQs:

How come waves is getting less popular? The REQ's are great imo. I dont use the Q1-10 but the ssl and APi's are pretty sweet.

Yeah I want to get hold the the Waves API stuff.
It would seem that good hardware is more often always good, but in the world of software everything has a short shelf life. Are we all too fickle? |
